I Absolutely Hate Doctors

Image result for hating doctors clipart
You are never gonna believe how Peyton's doctor appointment went yesterday.  All this neurologist wanted to talk about is her carpel tunnel in her right hand.  When Peyton mentioned that when the office called to let her know that the results of her MRI were in, the nurse told Peyton that she would be told the results at yesterday's appointment.  When she mentioned that to the doctor his reply "she was wrong" and continued talking about her hand.  He told her that they would discuss the results at her next appointment which is September 6th.  Can you believe this crap?  What the heck does a neurologist have to do with carpel tunnel anyway?

All he is doing is milking her insurance company for money.  We aren't patients anymore....we're dollar signs.  She is going back to the place where she had the MRI done and getting a cd of it so if she does find another doctor she has that to give to him.  She has an appointment coming up with a facial pain oral physician and I don't know if he can help her or not.  The medication that the quack gave her isn't working but he told her to continue using it and to upgrade from 2 pills to 3.  Now in my humble opinion wouldn't you want to find out the problem before prescribing pills?  I know I'm no doctor but it just makes sense to me.

We shall keep praying for her and hope that some doctor out there can actually help.

Update

Good afternoon sweet ladies and I hope you are staying cool wherever you are.  It's horrible here in Florida but I think the northeast is even worse.

The update on Peyton is confusing.  The doctor's office called last Thursday and said they were going to put her on medicine that confuses me very much.  Without going in to much detail, this is used for different diseases that have nothing to do with Peyton's symptoms.  They did say that the nerves in her face are inflamed but they don't know why.  She goes to see this doctor tomorrow so maybe she'll get more information.  I don't trust doctors and I would really like her to get a second opinion but she's not in that frame of mind.  I'll keep you updated and again, thank you all for prayers for her well being.  I treasure each and every one of you.

I do have a finish to share.  It's the BBD one that I picked back up when this started with Peyton.  It's called "A Simple Wish" and mine is that she get's an answer to her problem and that it leaves as quickly as it appeared.

I can truthfully say that I love this BBD project more than any of theirs I have done before.  I'm not sure how I will finish it but I'm leaning towards framing.

Today's chuckle:

No News Yet

Well Peyton had her MRI yesterday and so far we haven't heard a peep from the neurologist.  Does that mean it's good news?  I saw her today and she said the numbness is spreading to her forehead now and I'm really getting scared.  I can't thank you all enough for all the prayers that are being said on her behalf and I thank each and every one of you.  God Bless You All.  As soon as we hear anything I will be sure to post on here what the problem is and the prognosis.

My DH surprised me with a beautiful pincushion holder the other day and I thought I'd share it with you.  It's made of bubinga wood and it's stunning.  It's about 5 inches across and about 1.5 inches deep.  Now all I have to do is decide on what design to put in it.

I also went back to working on a BBD project that I had put aside for awhile.  I'm really into it this time and I'm moving right along.  It's from one of the BBD quilting books and the design is called "A Simple Wish".  I thought it was appropriate to work on while I'm sitting here thinking of Peyton.

This is what I have finished so far.  I wasn't so sure of the colors and that's why I put it aside but the more I work on it, the more I love them.  Designers do know best!

Now some sad news about our baby, Vallie.  We think she is going blind.  She loves to play fetch with us and it seems that she has a very hard time finding the toy that we are playing with.  I've noticed that she won't jump down from chairs or the bed anymore either which tells me she's afraid and can't see.  She will be going to the vet to get a thorough examination to find out the reason but it breaks my heart.  We will just continue to love her no matter what the problem and pray for the best.

Asking for Prayers

Our darling grand daughter, Peyton, is in need of prayers.  I went with her to the facial surgeon on Monday and he said after running some tests, that he had no idea what was wrong.  He said that if he had to make a guess, it would be a stroke or a tumor so she's going to a neurologist tomorrow.  I know he'll probably send her for an MRI and I'm just praying my heart out.  She woke up this morning with her right arm in a lot of pain and then it went down into her right leg.  I had 2 cousins who had MS so that runs in our family.  I just can't deal with her in pain......she means just so much to me.

I finished the Flag Lady but I'm not completely finished with the finishing.  Make sense?  :o)  But I have started something new.

It's the Old Crow by Heart in Hand.  I'm hoping you can see the variations in the HDF silk I am using because I just love it.  I'm stitching it on Primitive Gray by PTP and it's showing up beautifully.

Now to tell you about my new purchases of yarn.   Ahhhhh yarn, I could wrap myself up in it and just snuggle all day.  These first two were purchased from a company, Ancient Arts, who dyes yarns to match colors of dogs and cats.  Unbelievable right?  Plus you can purchase them in different weights which I like.
This first one is based on a
Orange Tabby Cat

and this one is a
Lilac Point Siamese

If you are interested in seeing some fantastic colors, here is their website:

This next yarn I purchased on Etsy from Juliespins who is a fantastic dyer.  This one is called "Pioneer Woman" and I see it as an old fashioned granny shawl.  It's a little lighter than sock weight so it should make a nice shawl for Florida in the winter time.

This next yarn I have high hopes for.  I came across it at Tuesday Morning near me which gets a shipment of yarn in every month and this time I came home with this.  It's a linen/cotton yarn that isn't very soft but I'm hoping that after knitting it  up and washing it, it will soften up some.....or so I've been told.

A New Week

......has started and I'm already exhausted.  Today was wash day....I'm a little OCD in that my laundry has to be done on Monday's.  I think I am where Peyton gets her OCD from.  Poor girl she went today to have her stitches removed from the oral surgery she had done and her face is still numb and her lips.  The oral surgeon is sending her to a specialist that deals in this type of ailment....I have no idea what the name would be.  She's had this now for almost 2 weeks and it's really starting to scare me.  I know they will do a brain MRI and the first thing that came to mind was "tumor".  I am saying prayers and if you could add some, our family would greatly appreciate it.

Here's the latest pic of her two little rugrats.  Zane has the biggest smile on his face because he climbed up onto his big brother's bed all by himself and you can tell John is not thrilled.  Now that Zane is mobile, John is finding it hard to share his toys so he has some learning to do there.  On the plus side, he won't be 3 till October 31 and he's potty trained.  I told Peyton she got off easy with him and Zane will probably be the exact opposite.

I want to share something with you that I remember my Grandmother, Anna Grace making when I was little.  This is one of my favorite items I have of hers in needlework.  The fabric around the outside is a silk and she continues to wrap it at the corner into a flower.  The size is about 5 x 5 inches.  I've been trying to come up with an idea in how to display it and keep it clean at the same time.  If you have any ideas, please share.

I've been working on Flag Lady and she now has a new head that is on straight.  I've also started the flag so hopefully sometime this week it will be finished.  I'm going to Sewing Studio tomorrow to look for a backing for the quilt I want to incorporate her in to.  Also, a Christmas fabric to go with the BBD heart I just finished.  Wish me luck!

I'm a little concerned that her arms really don't show up very well and I don't know if I should back  stitch them or not.  What do you think?  I think the back stitching would look out of place because there's no other bs in the design.  Ugh!  I hate making decisions like this.  It seems I always end up making the wrong one.  Like when I tried to do her head upside down.....dumb!

I've always wanted to do a porcelain half doll pincushion but these can be very expensive.  I found this on Etsy the other day for $25 and free shipping.  Needless to say it's on it's way to me.  Of course the white skirt is going and I'll do a needlework skirt.  I have no pattern so this is gonna be fun and exciting to work on.  I can't wait for the creative juices to start flowing.  I'm debating on painting the dolls dress with watercolors to give her a little more color but I think I'll wait to I have a dress designed.

I also want to thank all the ladies who gave comments on my BBD heart finish.  My email is acting up so just bear with me till DH gets it working again.

For a chuckle...

We have a winner and a finish

Good Day Ladies.  Here's hoping your week was good and you had a good time stitching and whatever else you worked on.

The winner of the Blackbird Designs book called My Dear Hearts plus the fabric is

Deborah

I have emailed her and left her know she's the winner and I hope she enjoys the book.

I stitched the heart design out of the book and here is my version of it.  As you can see mine is stitched in an olive green and burgundy.

I want to find a primitive Christmas fabric that will set off the colors and then will be made into a pillow or quilt....just have to decide.

Now I'm going back to my Flag Lady and frogging her head.  Poor little thing.....losing her head that way.  I'm hoping to finish that tonite so I can get a fresh start tomorrow on re-stitching her.

I'll leave you with a chuckle..

I Am a Blooming Idiot

It just dawned on me when I received Catherine's email telling me she had the design that the only way you would know this is if you had the book.  So I am going to change this giveaway.  Here is the book that the design is in.

Now the only way you would know that the design was in this book is if you had the book and then why would you want to win it again.    Dumb.....dumb.....idiot me.
Here is the design that I am stitching....

There are only two designs in this book, the one of the cover and this heart shaped pincushion.  So now we change it to a normal giveaway and I stop having these bright ideas that make no sense.  If you are interested in receiving this BBD book and the Dower 30ct linen fabric, make a comment on this post and I will have Vallie pick a name come friday.  Let's keep this to just US at this time.  Next month I will have another giveaway and that one will be world wide.

I apologize for my stupidity in this and will try harder to come up with some new and interesting ideas for my followers.

1st Clue

Here is clue #1

Good Luck Detectives

Let The Games Begin

Image result for mystery

I was going to wait till Monday but I got everything together to stitch the Mystery Giveaway early so why wait.  Here are some of the hints I am giving you.

1.  It is a sampler...of sorts

2.  I show 3 colors but the pattern calls for a different amount

3.  The colors shown are not what the designer calls for

4.  The linen being shown is not what the designer calls for

5.  Mean aren't I?

I am going to stitch some today and I will post an updated picture either tonite or tomorrow.  When and if someone wins, they will receive the pattern and the same fabric I have stitched mine on and the same size.  I am stitching mine on 30ct. River Rock Dower Linen which is a superb linen if you've never tried it.  It's a little bit heavier than Cashel or Belfast and has a wonderful feel to it.  You won't be disappointed.  If you like how I have stitched mine, I will include the threads that I used instead of what the pattern calls for.

Good luck and may the best detective win.

Just Me Again.....

I'd complain more about having to take out all those stitches on My Lady because it makes me feel better but it still doesn't get the job done.

I did start something new...

Yep it's the Drawn Thread Apple Blossom Sampler and so far so good.  I'm stitching it.....hold on to your pantyhose.....on 36ct.  I hadn't realized before I started stitching that there are some parts stitched over 1 thread which makes it very interesting for this old gal but I'll muddle through.

Now for a thing that has been creeping me out for weeks.  Anyone else notice the Jimmy Dean Sausage commercials that have his voice in it.  Well Mr. Dean died back in 2010 so it creeps me out to hear his voice.  It's like it's coming from the grave.  They really need a new commercial.

Now for a surprise.  I'm going to have a giveaway but of a very different type.  Next Monday I'm going to be starting a new cross stitch  project and this is what I've decided to do.  Every day that I have worked on this project, I will post a picture of my progress.  I will tell you what the subject is but that's it.  The first person who guess what the design's name is and designer gets the pattern and a piece of fabric to stitch it on.  I think it's going to be fun but that's from my point of view. :o)

That's all for now..... I'll leave you with a chuckle.
