I hope each and every one of you has a very special Holiday Season!

I would like to congratulate all the finishers in the SAL I hosted for 2013.  I will draw the winner's name on December 31st and if you haven't gone to the blog for the SAL, take a break and treat yourself to some beautiful stitching from around the world.  My heartfelt thanks to all the ladies who finished.

Our sweet Vallie all dressed up in her new sweater and hat.  Jenn insisted on buying the hat and I'm surprised she left it on so long.
You know the story about Jenn, our daughter and her family moving in with us from Colorado.  Well here is something I doubt many of you see.  Her DH Daniel use to work for Coors and you know the displays the beer companies put up  in stores.....well he got ahold of a fake palm tree and kept it .  When they moved down here, they decided it would make the perfect Florida Christmas tree.  Here is a pic of it and it even has a musical pink flamingo on top that sings "Santa Baby" and "It's 5 o'clock somewhere".  It cracks me up!!!
I've not really been in the stitching mood for some time now and I better get over it soon.  I've done some knitting...Christmas present....and 3 new shawls and worked on my SAL.  I'm not interested in any kind of needlework which is very weird because usually I go from one to another but not this time.  Maybe it's the holidays.

I know Thanksgiving is over but I just have to share this with you. :o)

TWAS THE NIGHT OF THANKSGIVING,
BUT I JUST COULDN'T SLEEP.
I TRIED COUNTING BACKWARDS,
I TRIED COUNTING SHEEP.

THE LEFTOVERS BECKONED -
THE DARK MEAT AND WHITE,
BUT I FOUGHT THE TEMPTATION
WITH ALL OF MY MIGHT.

TOSSING AND TURNING WITH ANTICIPATION,
THE THOUGHT OF A SNACK BECAME INFATUATION.
SO, I RACED TO THE KITCHEN, FLUNG OPEN THE DOOR,
AND GAZED AT THE FRIDGE, FULL OF GOODIES GALORE.
GOBBLED UP TURKEY AND BUTTERED POTATOES,
PICKLES AND CARROTS, BEANS AND TOMATOES.

I FELT MYSELF SWELLING SO PLUMP AND SO ROUND,
'TIL ALL OF A SUDDEN, I ROSE OFF THE GROUND.
I CRASHED THROUGH THE CEILING, FLOATING INTO THE SKY,
WITH A MOUTHFUL OF PUDDING AND A HANDFUL OF PIE.
BUT, I MANAGED TO YELL AS I SOARED PAST THE TREES....
HAPPY EATING TO ALL - PASS THE CRANBERRIES, PLEASE.

MAY YOUR STUFFING BE TASTY,
MAY YOUR TURKEY BE PLUMP.
MAY YOUR POTATOES 'N GRAVY HAVE NARY A LUMP.
MAY YOUR YAMS BE DELICIOUS.
MAY YOUR PIES TAKE THE PRIZE,
MAY YOUR THANKSGIVING DINNER STAY OFF OF YOUR THIGHS!!
