Martina Weber's Rosettes Delight SAL

How many of you ladies have seen this new SAL by Martina?  Well I've joined it and now I have to get my colors in order.  There are 9 colors but I've got an itching to do mine in one color....maybe an overdyed.  I would just like your opinion on this.  Do you think it would take away from the design if it was stitched in just one color?  I've decided on the fabric......36ct. natural so it will have to be something to go with that.  Maybe do it in pastels instead of the rich colors that Martina has used?  HELP.....I'M SO CONFUSED......
Blessings to anyone who helps,
Barbara

Louie, as much as I love monochromatics, I personally wouldn't do this one that way. In fact, I LOVE the colors that she's done it in, from what I can tell in the picture. I know whatever you decide will be gorgeous! Thel

mmm having had a squint at this monochrome won't give the same effect I think ..... go for some pastels if that takes your fancy hope that helps you a bit :) love mouse xxxx

I have to agree with the others - I love over-dyed monochromatics, but I think this one does need more color to it.

However, I think that the right pastels would also work beautifully!

I hadn't seen this SAL yet, and it's beautiful! I think I want to do this one also, so thanks for the posting!

The SAL piece is gorgeous - I need to go and check this out. As for the colors I'm not sure about doing it monochromatic. Why don't you try to print out a pic of it in black & white and see how you like it then? Happy stitching!

How pretty; I think I'd use these colours hun; I don't know about you but I get bored stitching w/one colour; and this is a big piece; but I'm sure however you do it, it'll be beautiful.

Hugs, Shar

I don't think the flowers would look as nice one color. I think they would all blend together.

I don't think I'd do this one with one color. I do like the colors given, but could also see it finished with more muted colors as well.

I think its the flowers that would miss out on being one colour. If it was just geometric designs it would work. So I would have to agree with everyone else. I love this design by Martina. She always does amazing work.

Okay, just to add to the confusion, how about two or maybe three colours. I am doing a piece by Pelin Tezer and am using one main colour with a highlight here and there and it is turning out well.

I try to wing it with mistakes if I am keeping the piece but can't bring myself to throw away linen. Don't have a LNS near so shop via the internet. Not as satisfying as bringing home your treasures the same day you bought them.

Have fun whatever you do.

Barbara... I'm wanting to stitch this too and change the colors to something...ANYTHING...other than the fall colors given.

LET'S TALK! ;-)

I joined an RR for the Emblem of Love sampler. Of 6 stitchers, 3 people chose to stitch in monochrome (2 blue and 1 red) - the others chose the colour version. Mine was blue but I so wished I had gone with the colour version as the finished pieces were gorgeous.

The colours on Martina's SAL pice are wonderful but I think maybe more pastel shades would work better. I look forward to seeing your choice.

Oh my. I'm so glad I found you! What beautifully arranged photos, wonderful projects, and enjoyable writing! I love the Lizzie Kate jar, the alphabet knocker, and am impressed with your finishing skills. Your bloglist has directed me to a new group of stitchers and I need an afternoon to check everything out further. Regarding your question about using one floss color, why not stitch one motif and see what it looks like. I can see this on a light ground and a very rich thread. But that's just me, and I'm a little off anyway. Again, thrilled to find your blog!
