I hope this coronavirus has passed on by your house and that you are all safe. We are into our second week of quarantine and so far no signs of us being infected. I am astounded about the amount of people in NY that have become infected and I am maddened by the fact that yesterday Orlando Airport had over 190 flights from NY. I'm sure we'll see Florida's numbers go up rather quickly now.
Don't people have any common sense anymore? We had spring breakers down here on our beaches until the Governor closed them. Where are their parents? Don't they have any common sense at least?
Remember I was working on my beautiful My Fair Lady shawl?
Well it's now in the garbage can. I missed an entire row and when I tried to undo it, it turned into the worse mess I've ever seen. I will retry this pattern but with a yarn that has no trouble being undone. It broke my heart to can it but there was no saving it. I still have 2 1/2 balls left so I have enough to make a cowl but this time I will use a pattern I am very familiar with.
I'm sure all of you are busy stitching away if you've been house bound like I have. I'm still working on Memorial Day by Hands on Design and am enjoying it immensely. I love the bright beautiful colors Kathy used in it.
Please be careful wherever you live and stay safe and at home.
Blessings, Barbara

Oh no! Sorry you lost all that work but sometimes it's twice as much to fix it, and we're never satisfied with the result. Hard to do but sometimes necessary.
Glad you two are still OK. I've heard about the young people partying, and I doubt any of them would listen to a parent at their age. And their parents raised irresponsible kids so they may be also. Not all I'm sure.
Stay well!
Very happy to hear you are both doing well. Poor Florida! Maybe NYC needs to be forced to stay put. They certainly stopped travel from Hunan in China. My DH and I very carefully went to Target to get a few necessities before it closes tomorrow. All the people above say 25 were behaving well and keeping a good distance. The teen agers out of school were awful, hugging and acting like life was one big party. I thought we perhaps should have kept them in school. No sense of responsibility there!! Where are their parents??!!
Barbara: On Fox News they were talking about all the people leaving New York for other states, I do think the airlines should be held responsible for taking them, how horrible a state like New York did not close the airports and the ones around them.
The Governor of Minnesota may be opening the restaurants this Friday we will have to wait and see.
I am so sorry you had to toss that beautiful piece, I hope you show us progress on the next one.
Stay Healthy

I really can't understand people in these times. It is the same here in Germany. The older ones stay at home, schools and kindergarten are closed, but kids play in the park as nothing is going on.
I am fine, stay at home, have my books, stitching, DVDs and enough to eat.
I am sorry to read you had to toss your shawl. The wool looked so soft.
Wish you more luck with new yarn.
Stay safe and healthy.
Greetings from Germany
I was always wondering about the common sense thing too...and the lack of it is the reason why the world is as crazy as it is right now...
I remember seeing pics from South Korea of suited/masked people washing down and sanitizing the streets...I'm thinking that's what they need to do in NY. I haven't been there in almost 30 years....and it was filthy then...ick! They should probably sanitize busses and trains that go in and out of NY too...
Glad you both are staying well.
I saw that on the news about beaches, so sad, but they should've closed them long ago.
Sorry you had to scrap the shawl, but sometimes that happens.
I've done that a few times.
Give Vallie a pat-pat for me.

I am very relieved and thankful to hear that you and your husband are still doing okay. You have been on my mind and in my prayers. The young (and some older) think they are invincible and it won't happen to them. And yes, it is lack of common sense along with their misguided sense of being responsible.
I am sorry about the canning of your shawl.
Oh Barbara. There is an old saying I am sure you are familiar with, The world is going to hell in a handbasket! And our president is leading us there. He is the one with no common sense. Why is HE not shutting us all down. Anyone who thinks we do not need to do this, is EXTREMELY MISLEAD BY THEIR SENSE OF AMERICAN ENTITLEMENT! Wake up! The New York mess is coming your way. Oh yes, it actually is. I could not believe I read that Catherine's state of Minnesota is going to maybe reopen the restaurants already. Lord help them.
So happy to hear that your household is doing well. Prayers that it continues. Sorry to hear you had to trash the work you had done on the shawl.
Glad to hear you are doing well. I'm so sorry you had to throw the work out; I look forward to seeing you make it again. Keep safe x
At least we have not been ordered to stay inside yet....we can still walk around the yard, etc. I wonder what "habits" will develope from this time, what children will remember and what practices will be taken forward...what will we keep doing after the worst is over. Stay safe....
