Just Had To Share This

If you're like me I'm all thumbs when it comes to cookie and cake decorating so when I see something that is just amazing my mouth drops open and I wonder "How did they do that?".  I love watching the baking shows where you have to try and reproduce something that a master chef made.  I'd never make it!!!  So when I saw these on Pinterest.....again my mouth dropped open.

Needle Point Cookie Art

How do they do this and would you seriously eat one of these?  I'd frame them!!!

I wanted to wish everyone on this last day of 2018 a very Happy New Year and if you decide to go out to a party or to see loved ones, please be careful and come home safely.  My hubby and I always stay home on this night and leave the merry making to others.  Also be aware of your animals when the fireworks start going off.  Vallie is terrified of them and hides under a blanket on my lap till they end.  Poor babies just don't understand.

Some New Starts

Well here it is almost the end of 2018 and what a year it was.  I'm pleased with how many projects I finished and ones that I have started and hope to finish in the coming year.  A really big surprise was given to us for Christmas but more about that later.

Here's what I have started and hope to finish in 2019.
First off, have you all seen the new Cross Eyed Cricket designs of the Nativity?  Well I love CEC designs and when I saw this I knew I had to stitch it.  I've wanted a stitched Nativity scene for quite awhile but never came across one I wanted to stitch.  This one is it.

I decided to start with the angel and here's her starting from the bottom.

The designer has decided to use Kreinik Blending Filament but I absolutely despise that stuff so I'm using a Rainbow Gallery thread called Petite Silk Lame Braid that has a bit of metallic in it.  It's hard to make it out in the picture but all the white is this braid and it is so much easier to work with.

I've also started a new shawl with a yarn called Scheepjes Whirl that is a gradient cotton yarn in sock weight.  This one starts in pale grey through light blue, brown, purple, teal to black.  The first 38 rows were kind of boring with just doing the granny stitch but now I'm getting into the actual pattern.  If you're a member of Ravelry you can find this under the designer Katya Novikova and it's name is "Grafika".

Now for that surprise that we were told on Christmas.  It seems our family is going to have a new addition in August.  Peyton is pregnant with their third and last child.  They wanted 3 and all close together and wow are they getting it.  Of course we are all praying for a girl but I must confess, I love those other 2 little guys so a third one would be no problem.  I'm very worried about Peyton because she immediately had to stop taking her medications for her Trigeminal Neurolgia and so now her pain will come back full force.  She's not letting it get her down though and tonite when we went out to dinner with them, she was in fine spirits.  I truly don't know how she does it.

Well that's all my news for now.  I hope you all have a safe and Happy New Year's and start 2019 out with loved ones surrounding you.

If by chance you're wondering why I'm posting all these snowman images....it's because I would love to be able to make a snowman but it's just not possible here in Orlando so it just makes me feel good and I hope it brightens your day just a little bit.

Time for a Giveaway

I hope everyone's week has been great so far and if you're in the middle of a snowfall, I wish I could be there....for about 30 minutes.  I did a really stupid thing the other day.  I ordered this snow owl from 123 Stitchery not remembering that I had my LNS order it for me too so I've decided to give one away.  If you are interested in a chance to win leave a comment to this post with your email address and I'll pull a name next Monday night.

Good Luck

Baby It Was Cold Inside.....

Well we survived the 9 degree temperatures of the ICE show at the Gaylord Palms and I have some wonderful pictures to share with you.  Remember they used over 2 million pounds of ice to make these sculptures.

These were the slides you could go down and yes I did....twice.  I had the cold bum to prove it.

This angel was about 12 feet tall.
This Nativity was absolutely amazing.
Peyton acting a little crazy.

Me and my Little Buddy John.

As you can tell by the end me and hubby were pretty wiped out.  We all had hot chocolate and then went home and changed our clothes....back in to the shorts and t shirts.  LOL

After that we went to Disney Springs to see the decorated Christmas trees and I know I took some pictures of my favorites but I'll be dang if I can find them on my phone.  When I finally do, I'll post them.

I also have a finish to share.  The first house of Glitter Village by CCN.  I'm enjoying this so far and I've just started building number 2.  I'll keep you updated.

I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend like we did.  There's nothing like spending time with your love ones this time of year.  I will look back on these pictures with love and laughter as a good time in my life.

Happy new week #BloomGirl! We believe you're going to do something great with your week #BloomPlanners #BloomPlanner #BloomDailyPlanners #Calendar #BloomGirl #Planner #Plan #Organization #Inspiration #PlannerAddict #PlannerLove #PlannerCommunity #BloomWhereYouArePlanted #PlanToBloom

An Amazing Piece of Art

Like a lot of you I have a love of Pinterest.  While on there tonite I came across a lady who does exceptional needle art.  I thought I would share this because we all have that love of a needle and thread.

Her name is Salley Mavor of Wee Folk Studio and her work just amazes me.  Above is just one of the works of art this very talented lady has accomplished.  Click of the link below to follow the trail of her design....Pocketbook of Borders.  What amazed me was her lack of fear of using unusual objects to get the illusion she wanted.  I would never of thought of using wood in this type of embroidery but she shows that it works beautifully.  Enjoy!
