Who Likes Doctors?

Not Me!!!!  I think I mentioned that I haven't been feeling very good well yesterday morning I woke up with a horrible ear ache.  I'm thinking I have an ear infection because my hearing in that ear is down about 50% and it hurts down into my throat.  My hubby and I both have appointments with our family doctor on Feb. 5 but I'm thinking this had better be checked out before then.  I call and the nurse tells me, after I explained about my symptoms, that the doctor has no openings and that I'll have to wait until the 5th.  Now I ask you, why bother having a family doctor when you can't get into see them if you are sick?  Believe me when I say that is the question I will be asking him when we see him on the 5th.  I called an urgent care center near our home and I have an appointment for tomorrow at 11 am.  Needless to say, I have no good for doctors and never will.

I've been working steadily on my Pumpkin Spice Farm and I have an update to share with you.

This is working up pretty fast and tomorrow I am hoping to dye the chenille trim (orange) for around the pillow or however I decide to finish this.  If I don't use the trim for this design, it will always come in handy for Halloween.

I stopped at a new store today on my way home from drug store.  It's called "The Black Sheep" and it's been around for years but now it's under new ownership.  She doesn't carry cross stitch but she does have a fantastic array of fibers.  Her specialty is needlepoint which is very popular here in Florida for some reason.  I think it's too expensive for my taste and I hate the fact of having to fill in every stitch.  Right?  She is just around the corner from me so that will come in handy for when I'm looking for that special thread.

Well I'm off to pamper my ear and my throat.  I hope they will be able to do something for me tomorrow because this is getting to be a bother.  Know what I mean?

You'all have a great week and I will post again when I have pumpkin farm finished....hopefully this week.

Blessings, Barbara

Urgent care has been a blessing for many. I need to see an orthopedic and can't get in for months. We always kept an appointment open each day for emergencies but sometimes, especially during flu season, they filled up fast. Hope you feel better soon.

Lots of options in that shop. Your project is looking really good.

Pumpkin Spice Farm is looking good, Barbara! I am sorry you aren't feeling better. I think it is a good thing to get into the urgent care tomorrow. I am glad you called them. Thinking of you!

Can’t get excited about needlepoint either. Visited my sister in south FL and she took me to a needlepoint store. OMG was the sales clerk working a snooty puss. When I said I cross stitch the guy informed me that it’s a craft and needlepoint is art. Turned me off even more. Nice progress on Pumpkin Spice Farm!

Oh, I hope you feel better soon. Last week, on Mon. I knew I had my DH's horrid virus, called my primary care, no appointments, go to urgent care, went there on Mon. Yep, you have the virus, but let's just hope you can fight it off, went back Thurs.(fever and all by then) guess what, he said,Now you are sick!!! He finally gave me medicine and we are getting better, It is about a 10-14 day virus but not the flu. Anyway, I do wish you luck. Your stitch piece is lovely. When I visited my sister in Florida a few years ago, I noticed how many shops had only needlepoint. I am like you, way too much back fill with needlepoint.

Oooh owww I feel your pain hope that someone gets to give you some medication.Earache like toothache makes you feel so rotten. Oh Pumpkin Farm is lovely ,you are so speedy.I used to do needlepoint a long time ago but it just seems to be so heavy looking now. I will not be going back to it and the price is extortionate.
It is another grey day here with high winds, not a day for going out . I have a pile of ironing beckoning me but I am trying to ignore it. Sigh it will win I am sure.
Take care my friend and feel better soon.
Hugs for Vallie.x

I feel the same about doctors.
If you call for an annual appt, 6 months to get in!!!
You have to call a year ahead of time, that's crazy!!
We also go to the urgent care up the street.
We even like the doctors there.
What good is it to have a Primary Care doctor if you can't get in?
Most of the time you end up seeing a PA anyway.
They should've bumped you in, that's serious.
Pumpkin Spice is looking great!

Barbara: I am with you and have a earache and cold which I picked up at a birthday party last week, I hope you feel better soon.
I love the Pumpkin Spice Farm it is lovely.
I do not know why she does not carry cross stitch along with the needlepoint, she could make more money.

Blessings

Hope you feel better soon! It's nice that you have a specialty fiber shop nearby.
