Some new stuff

Hi sweet peas!  Hope everyone is staying cool in this horrible heat wave we have going on.  I don't know how much longer I'm going to be able to live in Florida.  If I go anywhere I always make sure I'm out of the house by 9 am and I try to be home by 11 am.  Afternoon appointments just wipe me out.  I was lucky enough to go out with Peyton and Little John for lunch today and one of our favorite restaurants is Olive Garden.  I thought you might enjoy a picture of just how big Little John has gotten.   He was really enjoying his spaghetti today and he loves their breadsticks.

I must share with you a find that Peyton came across on Walmart.com.  She knew I was looking for a new rocker for our very small front porch and she found the perfect one on clearance.  The list price was over $200 but I got it for under $100 and it's very well made.  It's a heavy steel that is the color of bronze.  I love it and it's pretty comfortable to rock in.

I'm very proud to announce that I finished the Cricket freebie and I'm just waiting on the firefly buttons and then I can make it into a pillow.

I also went furniture shopping for an oversized recliner.  Remember me posting about the doctor advising I keep Vallie near me to pet and that it seems to help my hands from shaking.  Well this is the chair I picked out and as you can see, it has been Vallie approved.

As you can see she has her toys and her blanket all ready.  It's a power lounger and it's quite heavy.  I'm not real thrilled with the fabric but you take what you can get.  I'm still not sure if this is exactly what I want because I have discovered that oversized recliners do not rock and that is something I must have.  When I knit or crochet I rock up a storm....weird right?

Peyton has come up with a new project for me.  Little John has a toddler bed that transforms into a twin size bed and they don't make sheets for the toddler bed size.  His bedroom is done in dinosaurs and we found this fabric for me to make him some sheets and pillow cases.  He wouldn't let go of it at the store so we figured he liked it.

That's all for now.  I'm waiting on a package from With Thy Needle and Thread and it should be here tomorrow.  I want to start a new cross stitch  project and you know I have nothing in my sewing room to work on.  😢  It's depressing.

Barbara, it was good to see your latest post. Little John is definitely a cutie with a capital C. What a lovely rocker for your porch! Vallie looks very comfortable in "her" chair. Stay cool! Thinking of you!

Can't wait to see your pillow, what a cute design.
The fabric is too cute for a little boy.

I like the chair fabric and Vallie looks so small in it! I have mom's LaZboy recliner, also a rocker, and just can't sit still. I'm a rocker! Little John is so sweet and handsome.
