Before and After

Just a quickie post to share with you two Vallie pictures.  Yesterday was grooming day so I decided to take a before and after photo.
Before:
looking pretty scruffy.

After:
Exhausted laying on the arm of my stitching chair using my pouch for her pillow.  She's so darn cute I hated to disturb her to get new threads.

Good Monday Morning

Hello darlin's.  I hope all of you had a fantastic weekend filled with fun and laughter.  We had a terrific one.  I have a few pictures to share with you and then a big announcement.
First off, Little John was over to visit yesterday and he found a unique sitting spot on my table that my father made me years ago.  I think you'll agree he's very inventive.
We still haven't figured out how he got in there but Peyton had a dicken's of a time getting him out.  :)

John's uncle that took the pictures at the wedding gave them a beautiful keepsake of that day.  In the gardens that surrounded this beautiful estate were little statues.  One of them were two little children sitting on a bench reading a book.  He was able to catch this one of Little John pointing to the pages of the book.  He loves to be read to so he recognized the book right away.  I think it's very adorable.
And with Easter coming I wanted to do the finishing on my Happy Easter bunny pillow.  I thought it was perfect with the Easter colored Hershey Kisses that just jump into my hand whenever I walk by.

That's all for now.  It's Monday so it's laundry day.....

Oh yeah the big surprise.  Peyton and John told us yesterday that Peyton is pregnant and the baby will be here in November.  We have our fingers crossed plus a few toes that this one is a girl.  Little John needs a little sister to play with.  They wanted to have two children close together and that's exactly what they will have.  I pray everything goes okay and Peyton and the baby are healthy.

Busy, Busy, Busy

A sweet friend requested that I make a tote bag for her Mother using a poppy themed fabric I found on Fat Quarters.com.  This is what I came up with...
The Tote:

On the front I did her full name and on the bag her monogram.  Outside has 2 pockets and 3 pockets inside.
Extras:

A small zipper bag that has her nickname on front and embroidered poppy on back.

And a larger zippered case made out of 5" charms of the same fabric pattern.
I hope she likes it.

A New Start

You've all probably heard that the Nashville show was this past week and boy did I get in trouble.  There were just so many beautiful things to choose from.....well I decided not to choose and just buy everything.  At least that's what it seems to me.

One I did purchase was a new kit from Shepherd's Bush called "Ewe Are My Sunshine".  I wish I had left it there.  I've never been disappointed in one of their kits but this one I hate.  They decided to stitch it on 18ct. linen over 2 threads and I swear this linen feels like burlap.  Here's what I have so far.

I've also been working on Snow Days and I love it so far....and that's a new needle minder to help celebrate Spring.

I wanted something that I could put my threads, scissors and glasses in when I'm not stitching to keep Little Bubs hands out of trouble so I came up with this....

I made it about 5 x 10 inches and I love how it turned out.  It's large enough to hold everything I need it to but small enough to lay on the arm of my chair.

I hope all you ladies have a wonderful weekend with family and friends.

A Day at the Zoo

The kids have season passes to the zoo here in Central Florida so they invited me to go with them this pass Saturday.  We had so much fun and the flowers were spectacular.
Little John practicing his balance workout.

Mommy and Little John or Bubs as we all call him,

He wasn't at all scared to feed the giraffes.

...and these are just pics of the beautiful flowers in the botanical gardens.  It's a small zoo but the animals are well taken care of which is my major concern.  It's clean and well tended.
Then we had DH oldest brother and his wife stop in to see us on their way to Ft. Lauderdale to go on a cruise.  They love them but I just don't see the attraction.
My sister in law Pat playing with Little John.

And my DH oldest brother, Lynn.

As you can tell, I'm terrible at taking pictures.....always have been and probably always will be.
