A finish and new start

Hello to all my blog friends and here's hoping your week has been fantastic so far.  Mine has been so so with nothing earth shattering happening which is a good thing I guess.  I made a comment to someone the other day that my DH and I are boring.....we lead a very quiet life.  They replied back that they wish they could.  I guess in that sense we are lucky.
I was able to finish Betsy's Tart but I think it finished too small to place in the round frame I was thinking of using.  I'm going to have to find a different frame or some other way of finishing it.

I did change one of the colors in the design to add a little of brownish green to it.  I think also I should of done the lettering in a darker thread.  I just don't feel like dealing with the frog so it stays..

Then we have my next project...."Slate Snowman" from Shepherd's Bush.  I do love this design but one thing bother's me about their kits.  To me they cut the silks too short and they drive me crazy to use them so I always replace them.  These will be replaced with Belle Soie Silks which I absolutely love to work with.

Doesn't he look like fun???  I just love their designs.  When I'm finished with this one it will be winging it's way "across the pond" to a sweet lady in England.  She loves Shepherd's Bush and sheep just like me so I thought I'd share this one with her..

I hope all of you have a lovely weekend with family and friends.
Blessings, Barbara

Barbara, congratulations on your Betsy finish! What about inserting it in a smaller sized wooden embroidery hoop? I like your round frame, but I think she gets lost in it. Look forward to seeing the Slate Snowman come to life with your needle and thread.

Betsy turned out great.
Not sure what count fabric you used, but I've seen pics where they put her in one of the Wilton's small tart pans, and also in a clock they get at Hobby Lobby.
Slate Snowman will be so pretty.

Your little Betsy finish looks so sweet.
Let's hope you find a smaller frame for it, it fully deserves it.
Great new project too, it will be fantastic to stitch it with silk :)
Don't worry, I too lead a very boring life without too much drama... and it suits me fine! More stitching time, right?!

Hello Barbara,Barb here,
love your Betsy Tart design but I like that slate snowman a lot better lol.We two lead a fairly uneventful life, but this year has proved more eventful than we would like ,not in a good way. Boring you never, a blog post which tells us all about stitching, little John, and Peyton and upcoming wedding is fine by me. Have a good week my friend and we will try and do the same.
Hugs to you and yours.

Barbara: Betsy is adorable, I love th Tart series.
I am like you I do change some colors periodically.
The Snowman from Shepherds Bush is adorable, yes they do cut them way to short and sometimes not enough thread, I have run out with some of their kits.
I am interested in the Inspirations Magazine, if it is still for sale.
I will email you.

Blessings
Catherine

Oh, I think that would be perfect in that round frame, personally :) And I love that SB Snowman :)

Betsy looks brilliant, but I think you're right about the size of the frame - a smaller one in a similar style perhaps?

Looking forward to seeing The Snowman in progress
