A Stitcher's Giveaway

It's Time for a Giveaway!!!
I decided this time to concentrate on the sisterhood of stitchers.  When I came across this free pattern over on The Primitive Hare (click here), I knew that I had to stitch this design in celebration of what we all love.  I have met several stitchers since starting this blog that I consider my "sister" even though we've never met and maybe never will.  There are so many stitchers worldwide but it's a very close community and I love that part about it.
So the first part of the giveaway is a sweet little pin pillow stitched on 30ct. Creek Bed Brown linen from WDW using Crescent Colors cotton floss.  The checked fabric at the bottom is a country blue homespun with a piece of cream aged cotton lace across the top.  I've sewn 3 olive green buttons on and added one of my bows in green/blue/cream.  The finished size is approx 5 x 6 inches.
I was also up at my LNS this morning and saw this silver charm and I thought it would make a beautiful key chain.  The heart is about 1.5 inches across and has a nice weight to it.  I bought one for myself and one to include in this giveaway.
So this is what I need you to do.  Leave a comment on this post only and in one sentence, tell all of us what the stitching world has meant to you....if you want to.  You must be a follower of my blog and if you have a blog, post a comment on yours about this giveaway and then come back and leave another comment about it.  It will give you a second chance to win.
I will let this run for one week and next friday I will have the random generator pick a number for the winner.  This giveaway is open to all my followers worldwide because I believe that stitching makes this world a little bit smaller and friendlier.
My next project is a suggestion from my good buddy Sweet Sue.....
Blessings as always,
Barbara

Well Barbara, I am so glad to have connected with so many stitchers because I have none right here in my life, I'm on my lonesome. You are right that this little community is friendly, I have made quite a few friends. :)

stitching has been my way of connecting through many military moves and lonely deployments when DH has been gone. It was my life savor when I was in a Italian hospital with my new infant in neo natal care and many hours that i needed to stay busy. It has connected me all over the world, to friends face to face and some by internet.

It is a wonderful giveaway, I'm new to blogging and not very good on the computer but will attempt to add it to my blog. :)

Hi Barbara! I LOVE THAT WHOLE THING! That is beautiful! It was cool on Primitive Hare's Blog, but it is fabulous the way you finished it! I LOVE IT! My best gal pal is a stitcher. That commonality has made us the friends we are. She lives in another state, but we get together for retreats and such occasionally. And we try to see each other and stitch at least once a year. Her friendship has meant the world to me. The closeness we develop with other stitchers (I have a group in CO that I stitch with, too) - well, sometimes it just gets us through life. I am not artistic. I don't draw well, but I stitch decently. So stitching and finishing fulfills that need to be artistic. And it's therapy. It keeps me from eating too much and it makes me focus so that my troubles leave my brain for a while. Not a blogger - not good enough nor fast enough to blog. But I read your blog almost daily as you know. Thx for this lovely offering. I can't believe you'd give that away!

Beautiful stitching! Great idea for giveaway. What has the stitching world meant to me? I sense of belonging. There aren't many stitchers in my area and I felt alone - not anymore! Just jump on the computer and there all of you are!

How sweet hun; this is beautiful..please enter me in your giveaway...Stitching means so much to me; it has let me express myself with my stitching gifts for my loved ones; that I know they will always cherish, when I'm gone there will be things that my loved ones will look at and know I was thinking of them when I stitched for them...

Stitching stirs me away from boredom and feeling lonely because I am being away from family and friends, fills my time while I am looking after my two demanding and attached toddlers. Because of this hobby I found so many new stitching friends back in Indonesia (through facebook cross stitching groups) and I am hoping to find others from many parts of the world (I just made this blog yesterday and came across your blog last night). I went to The Primitive Hare and have downloaded this pattern as well but I dont think I would be able to make one as gorgeous as yours.
many thanks for the chance :)

The pin pillow is so beautiful!! :)

I'd love to be entered in your giveaway!

I joined the online stitching world about eight months ago....and in those eight months I've met so many incredible people. Stitchers have such open and giving hearts...they give support, advice, gifts, etc....so generous! I've also uncovered MORE and MORE pieces I would never have known about on my own (which has increased my stash tenfold!)

I met Isabella from The Primitive Hare back at Abilmente last fall, and she was really kind and sweet.. I remember her surrounded by all her lovely creations.. just like us here, on our blogs.. showing each other what we love most.. and even if we cannot touch them, we can tell how much love and patience it takes to create things that warm our hearts, even from very long distances

I blogged about it, as it's really really an amazing gift.. thank you Barbara!!
btw, I'm having a gift-away that will end next Friday too.. in case you want to join.. :D

Barbara, What a lovely giveaway!
Stitching has meant so much to me. I think the biggest thing are the friendships that I have mad through this shared hobby. I also like reproduction samplers and that adds another level to my stitching I feel more connected since I know more about the girls/women who created the samplers.
I hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend!

Stitching means so much - how do I just give one answer? I don't! The online friends I have made are priceless, the introduction to new designs and designers keeps me busy, and just stitching brings a relaxing calm to my mind and life. Thank goodness for stitching!

Barbara, that is just so gorgeous! Not having any "real" stitchy friends -I'm afraid I only know 1 person here who stitches :) - the stitching world has been my contact to meeting so many wonderful folks and learning so many new and wonderful things!

I spent the majority of the many years of stitching as a "solitary stitcher" as no one I knew even understood the appeal of stitching,, and then about one year ago or so, I joined a group on-line and have made several "connections" that have encouraged me to try different finishes and broadening my stitching repertoire...all due to the on-line community of stitching sisters and brothers, too! Please count me in the drawing for your lovely pillow. I enjoy your work very much and visit your blog often. I shall others know of the give-away on my blog, www.fugue-chrisg.blogspot.com.

Thank you for sharing!
