Lizzie Kate Not All of Us

This design by Lizzie Kate is one of her "boxer" series and it was alot of fun to stitch.  In the kit you had the 32ct. Flax Linen, the little red flower buttons and a brass heart for the bonus chart of a pincushion.  I haven't stitched that yet but I will at a future date.  I guess you can call this my first finish for 2012.  I just hope all the remaining projects are this much fun to stitch and to finish.
I hope your first day of the new year is going well.  I'm planning on having sauerkraut for dinner tonite.  My mother insisted on having this every new year's day to insure good luck for the rest of the year.  Does your family have any traditions that you are continuing?  We would all love to hear about them.  Until later.....
Blessings as always,
Barbara

Love this finish! Sauerkraut on 1/01 is a wonderful tradition, I'm mostly German, DH mostly Ukranian, our kraut addiction simply can't be helped. When DFIL needs a little pampering I serve his fave pierogis on the side:)

What a lovely finish! Pork, sauerkraut, and dumplings are cooking as I am typing! Being that my husband and I both have German heritage, we grew up eating this on the first for good luck!

Your finish is beautiful. I just finished a plate with pork (that I marinated in red wine), saurkraut(cooked in beer with an apple) and PA Dutch potato filling. Mmmm Good luck for the new year!!

That is a lovely sentiment on a beautiful finish. Yes we always had kraut and pork with apple juice and brown sugar in the crock pot served with a crusty bread. This year, we decided to have stuffed cabbage.

Just when I think I can't possibly find one more stitching project to add to my already overabundant pile of wanna-dos, I see something else. Love this boxer & love how you finished it! It is now on my wish list at 1-2-3 Stitch : ) On New Year's my mother also made sauerkraut along with kielbasa. It was the traditional New Year's meal : ) Blessings, Shirlee

Oh, and I LOVE your blog header too.
Yumm...Sauerkraut. We're having that tomorrow, and Szezedinger Gulash the next day to use up the rest of the Sauerkraut.
Wishing you a Happy New Year
