What I've Been Up To

Every year one of my friends asks me to stitch each one of her children a Christmas ornament and this is what we've come up with for this year. The last of her babies just graduated from college and she is also a snowman lover so she will be getting the Joy Snowman. Joy because she's graduated and of course the snowman.....because he's a snowman. LOL I'm almost finished with this one and then onto the next....

This daughter loves angels and we've come up with this one for her. It's the Just Nan Splendora Angel Bear. He will be stitched in Burmilana wool for the body and silks for his wings. I'm also going to use Marlitt for the outline of his wings which will give it a little shine. This one will be stitched on mushroom jobelan that has the gold threads running thru it. I forget the name of it right at this moment but I'm sure you know what I mean.

Last but not least is the turtles. This one will just be the turtle with the pocket. Did you know that the shells are stitched over one on 32ct fabric? Well I didn't and my eyes just aren't that good to see it so I've elected my daughter, Jenn to do the stitching and then I will do the finishing. Originally, I thought I would have to find other quaker designs for the shells but when Jenn suggested her stitching it over 1, I jumped at it. Now it will look exactly like the models.I will be posting pictures as I finish each one. Our grand daughter is coming over this weekend to spend some time with us and no stitching gets accomplished when she's here. Everyone have a great weekend and I'll catch you all next week...hopefully with at least one finished.

As always, Barbara

Great designs, the snowman looks lovely.
I was wondering if you could tell me where the turtle designs are from
