Tired!

We had a summer storm here the other night and it blew down a large limb from our maple tree in the front yard.  Luckily it only hit our fence and not the neighbors.  It was 98 degrees on saturday when we were chopping it up and putting it into cans and of course I did my usual routine of passing out.  Came to and our sweet neighbor Katie was putting cold wet paper towels on me to lower my body temp.  It's been miserable here and today DH had a doctors appointment at 3:30.  We got in the car and the temperature reading was 102 degrees.  If it's this hot now I won't be able to make it thru August.  I hope all you sweet ladies have been able to keep cool in this horrible heat we're experiencing this year.

I am so proud of myself and the progress I am making on Three Gables.  Here's the latest update:

I hope you don't get tired of me talking about Little John and posting pictures of him but I just get the biggest kick out of him.  Here's one Peyton sent me this morning.  Now doesn't it look like Chloe is saying to Peyton, "Mom I tried to keep him out but he just wouldn't listen to me".  LOL

As Peyton says "he's such a stinker".

Hope everyone has a Blessed Week
Barbara

PS.  Thought I'd add a picture of how Vallie likes to help me stitch.  NOT!

Updates

I've done alot of stitching on Three Gables and here's an updated picture of it.

Peyton went to the beach yesterday with her father and Bub loved the water.  At least this time he didn't eat as much sand.  LOL

Hello fellow stitchers!  Hope everything is going well with all of you and that you're getting alot of stitching done.  I've been slowly working on the Cricket design I started.  I had to go to my LNS to pick up some WDW threads and I'm thinking I should of purchased one more skein for the roof....Basil.  I hate running out in the middle of something.  Bugs me!
Here's what I have so far:

When I was at my LNS I came across a pattern from Brenda Gervais called Where Hearts Rest.  Love at first sight!
I bought the fabric it called for but in a 32ct. and all the fibers it needs.  The colors are just scrumptious!

In doctors offices while waiting during hubby's visits I've been knitting on the pink neck warmer and I only have about 2 more rows to do and that's finished.

My oldest brother was at our family reunion up in Pa. and one of our cousins gave him two pictures of our parents when they were in their 30's.  We hadn't seen these pictures before and he sent me copies.  They are very dear to my heart.

That's all for now.  I hope your week so far has been fun and everyone stay cool.  It's so hot here in Orlando right now you can hardly breathe when you go outside.  It's like you're walking into a sauna.  Come on Winter!!!!
Blessings, Barbara

P.S.  I forgot to mention that Peyton has picked out her wedding gown.  Monday afternoon, Peyton, myself and 3 of her friends went to David's Bridal and she found the gown of her dreams.

Hers had to be ordered because she wants a white on white bodice instead of cream on cream.  I love it and she looks so happy in it.

WHY?

I'm sure by now all of you have heard about the horrible things that have happened here in Orlando.  Why do these terrible people feel they have the right to take someone's life?  The sweet young girl who had her whole life in front of her, snuffed out by a crazy person.  Fifty innocent people out having a good time with friends not knowing they won't be going home that night.    I just do not understand it.  I pray for those families who have lost someone dear and for those still in the hospitals that will be scarred for life...emotionally and physically.  I have a friend who says "the world is upside down" and I tend to agree.

To keep my mind busy, I started a new cross stitch project.  This is one I've been wanting to do for years and I felt now is the time.  I have ordered all the buttons (quite a few) and have the WDW threads and  I'm stitching it on 28ct. gingerbread linen.  I love the colors in this and I plan on making it into a wall hanging for this Halloween.  Wish me luck!
Now I can't very well talk about Halloween without showing you some new pics of our Halloween baby.  The first one is of him being a big boy after he pulled himself up all by himself.

This second one is of him and his buddy Chloe.

I hope all of you are safe in your homes tonite and please say a prayer for those here in Orlando that are in need.

Blessings, Barbara
