Friends are Blessings

Well on Sunday they had Peyton's baby shower and it was real nice.  We couldn't stay long because they have 3 cats in the house and DH is very allergic to them.  When we arrived Jenn was not there and I think Peyton had it planned that we wouldn't stay long and her mom would show up after we left.  It's okay....I've learned to deal with things that hurt and I try to stay positive in my life.  It's just very difficult some times.
I want to share with you what I received from our friend Vickie.  She is such a sweetheart and has become a very good friend.  One never has enough friends that help you through life.
I'm displaying it right as you come in our front door on a library cabinet that was my husband's Mothers.  The two large statues in the back were my Mother's and I've added to them over the years.  Doesn't it look appropriate sitting there!  I love it Vickie!  Thank you so much!

A close up of her beautiful work!
I continue to work on the cowl I started.  I have about 3 inches to go yet till it's finished and I'm loving the pattern and the yarn.

I started a new project.  This one is called Second Spring by Erica Michaels and I love the saying on it.  "Autumn is the second spring where every leaf is a flower".  Isn't that beautiful?  The design is suppose to be stitched on a 40ct. mesh they include in the pattern but let's get real.  There's no way I can see that!  Sometimes I think these designers are just a little nuts.....but in a good way.
That's all that's going on in my world.  I hope you're having a great week so far and continue to.
Blessings, Barbara

Yes, Vicki is a sweet gal. You can pick your friends but not family. Hang in there.

Glad you got to go to the shower, despite the situation.
Your Cowl is turning out so pretty.
What a great Fall project, and the gift you received is so pretty with the statues.

Barbara! I have to keep scrolling up to relook at your display. What a perfect, perfect setting for my gift to you. I LOVE it.

The cowl looks pretty. And so does the sweet stitching. I had wondered if you could pull off that tiny stitching. Good plan. ;)

I am so glad you and DH were able to attend the shower.

Hello there Barbara , Oh all those teeny weeny things to ah and ooh at, hope Peyton had lots of gifts. Hmmm so true the saying you can choose your friends. Maybe it will all come right one day, none of us realise how much our parents mean to us until they are gone. I keep telling my teenage grandchildren that when they play up.
Love Vickies gift , I do not get many comments on my blog but without fail she leaves one, such a special lady.
The knitting and stitching are super duper and I agree with the count of fabric but it is lovely if you can see to do it.Take care and enjoy your week. Sorry written a letter again.
Hugs.
