A finish and an update.....

So who else is having trouble with Blogger?  I've been trying to post some pics of my newest finish and it just chugs away and doesn't let me upload any.  So as soon as Blogger fixes their glich, I will post the pictures.
What I have finished is Nesting by Kathy Schmitz.  I stitched it on 28ct. Lambswool linen using a beautiful blue Belle Soie silk by Crescent.  You can  see a picture of the pattern here.
Mine has a dark blue houndstooth wool on the outside and a chestnut color cotton on the inside.  I love how this turned out and I will have to see about others designed by Kathy.  She gives you very good finishing directions.
Now for the update of my diet.  So far so good.  I was in the neighborhood of The Sewing Studio the other day and was able to drive right on by.  My DH who was with me had a look of complete shock on his face and I must admit, my smile was a little smug.  LOL  I know several of you ladies have decided to join me on this "stitchery diet" and I hope all of you are doing well.  Give us your updates here so that we can all spur each other on.
Blessings as always,
Barbara

am ashamed to admit that I have not been doing very well on the stash diet. I did put the credit cards away but also learned i can purchase on-line using PayPal. I have made several purchases over the last week from the Thread Basket and one kit from Martha Pullen's store (Paisley Pumpkins). They were on sale, but still, a purchase!

Okay, I told you, I bought the small pieces of linen from you. Other than that, I have purchased nothing.

Good for you, driving right by! My car would have automatically turned right in! LOL I have been on a stash diet for about 5 months now, except for one chart/club purchase last week. I had realized I had so much that I would never get to, it was time to put the brakes on the spending.

Barbara,
I love this piece, just beautiful!
I also LOVE the wooden spoon!

I have to admit I failed already at the stash diet! I am going to get back on the wagon though!

I was having issues with Blogger as well. I did click the Update With Interface Blogger and now it all seems fixed. The old wouldn't let me upload pics either.

BEAUTIFUL finish!!! Oh my stars I love it. And congrats on your stash diet. I've only bought using my birthday discounts or gift certificates. I'll let you know how it all goes but I may fall off the wagon when I go to the SB Retreat.
