Trick or Treat?

It's that time of year again when all the little girls and boys of the neighborhood get all dressed up and go out searching for candy. The parents love doing this because it gives them an excuse to taste test the candy to make sure there's nothing wrong with it....and they don't get one guilty thought at doing this. LOL I remember when Jenn was little and us taking her around the neighborhood. Half the fun was thinking up the costume that she would wear. Now she has 4 boys to get ready...good grief. She always makes them come up with their own out of what is in the house. She buys makeup and all that but the costumes themselves they have to put together. I think it's a great way for them to express themselves. Anybody can go out and buy one of those costumes at Wally World or Target....which are too expensive in my thinking.
I was just wondering if anyone of you had a great trick or treating story to share. Here's mine:
When Jenn was little, about 4 years old, we were down at my parents house and my father decides to get dressed up and go to one of our cousins houses and try to scare them. Well Jenn had her costume on (please don't ask me what it was because for the life of me I can't remember) and my father was dressed as a bum with a paper bag with holes cut out over his head. Well my cousin couldn't guess who it was because they weren't expecting a little girl to be there with such a creature. Also, if Jenn hadn't been along, my cousin would of gotten out his showgun and shot my father in the butt as he was running away. LOL Fun was had by all when Dad finally took off the paper bag.
P.S. that was the last time Jenn went trick or treating with my father...just too dangerous. LOL

Favorite halloween movie????

I love halloween and especially the above movie. In case you don't recoginize the pic, it's from Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. I'm not one who goes into blood and guts movies and I hate to be scared. Now our daughter Jenn is just the opposite. She loves all those frightening movies and so does her 4 boys.
What kind of movies do you and your family like to watch at Halloween?

Now this is being creative...

I have a neighbor who goes all out at Halloween and today I remembered to go take some pics to share with you ladies. I had to go to the post office this morning and I saw another house that just has to be photographed at night so I'll try to remember to do that after dark this evening.
I love how the lady who lives here does this every year for the children of the neighborhood. She has none of her own but loves seeing the kids faces each year.
This one just cracks me up.
If you have any special houses or maybe your own who decorates in a big way for Halloween, send me some pics and I'll post them here for everyone to enjoy.

I want to thank everyone who entered and stay tuned because in November there is going to be one heck of a giveaway in celebration of our Savior's birth.
Deborah, again congratulations!!

Hubby has had his surgery

Several months ago I posted that the surgery for my husbands cochlear implant had been approved. Well today he had his surgery and seems to have come thru it just fine. The implant has 22 electrodes and they could only place 16 in my husbands ear. This means he won't have perfect hearing but it will be better than he's had.....which is nothing. Now we have to wait 2 to 4 weeks before they turn it on and program it to see exactly how much it will help him.
Just a thank you from all the well wishes I received about this surgery. I just hope it helps improve his life.
