A Most Blessed Thanksgiving To All

This year we have a lot to be Thankful for.  A brand new Great Grandbaby, John Elijah....my DH heart surgery that went well....and all my dear sweet friends.  The flowers were sent to us from my sweet friend, Rhonda and it's hard for me to express just how thankful I am that she came into my life.  I want to wish all my followers a Blessed Thanksgiving and please give each and every one of your loved ones hugs and kisses and don't forget to say I Love You.
Many Blessings Upon Thee,
Barbara

I hope it's as beautiful where you are as it is here.  Not a cloud in the sky that's a brilliant blue and the temperature in the 70's.  A perfect Florida winter day.
Vallie still is not allowed on Daddy's lap but she checks on him very regularly....as you can see.
Sorry for the bad picture but my phone doesn't take that great of a picture when I zoom in but you get the general idea.
Several of you were asking about Little John.  Here's a new picture of the little sweetheart.
When Peyton was a baby, she had a favorite blanket called "blankie".  That is what Little John is wrapped in....she is allowing him to share it.  LOL
I must catch up on my reading of all the blogs I follow.  Time seems to move very fast these days.  I will try to answer each and every comment but please bear with me.  I love all of my followers and I want to stay in touch with you all.  The nurse is coming this afternoon so I must go and get ready for her.
Blessings for a Wonderful Thanksgiving this year.  We certainly have alot to be thankful for.

Update on Hubby

My hubby was released from the hospital on friday evening and I must say, we have a happier dog.  I made DH wait in the car while I took everything inside and placed Vallie in her cage.  When she saw him come thru the door she went nuts.  As soon as I got him comfortable, I opened the cage door and she ran so fast across the living room that she couldn't get stopped in time and went face first into his chair.  It was the first time he really smiled since the surgery.  We have a nurse that will be coming in for the next two weeks to check his vitals and the incision.  My DH is 6'2" and weighs 220 and as the surgeon put it "he's one big boy".  Well I wish the surgeon was here to help me get him to his feet.  Whew!  This morning was shower time and by the time I got him dried off and dressed I was exhausted.  He is making a pretty good patient though but I expect that to change as he gets better.  John and Peyton came over yesterday and John helped me get the walker fixed up for him.  It was the kind that had 4 wheels so I had him take them off and put tennis balls on them.  We have no carpeting in our house so it glides very well for him.
I want to thank all of you for your prayers and best wishes.  I do believe that with all the prayers that were being sent to Heaven, he came thru this ordeal in pretty good shape.  We don't have to worry about his body rejecting the parts.  I talked with someone at the hospital and this kind of tissue has never been rejected so that eased my mind.
Over the course of these past 2 weeks, I've gotten alot of knitting and crocheting done because that was one of the best things for me to do while visiting and sitting with him.  I'm going to be selling these pieces and more because let's face it.....I don't wear alot of wool here in Florida.   These will be in my store in the next several days, so if you're looking for Christmas gifts or something for yourself to help keep you warm, check them out and you might find something you like.

My Sad Baby

Vallie misses her Daddy.

Hubby is out of ICU, on no pain meds, all IV's have been removed and he's walking.  It won't be long till Daddy is home.
Have a Blessed Day, Barbara

News

Just a quick note to let you know that hubby came out of the surgery with his vitals good.  He was taken off the respirator yesterday and now we just wait to see if his body rejects the tissue that was used in the repairing of his aorta.
I want to thank each and every one of you that offered up prayers for his surgery....nothing is stronger than prayers and in this instance we were Blessed.

Making Preparations

This past week has gone fast and I wasn't ready for it to be.  Tomorrow we go to the hospital for blooding matching and filling out all the paperwork for Tuesday's surgery.  Tonite we went out to dinner with John, Peyton and Little John and had a wonderful meal.  We went to my husband's favorite restaurant as he requested.  My dear oldest brother called tonite to let me know he stood up in church today to ask for prayers for DH and of course that made me cry when he told me that.  I'm a basket case already so I hate to see what I'm going to be like on Tuesday.
John and Peyton were concerned about how their little Jack Russell mix was going to take to Little John.  She's so use to being the center of attention and they worried about how she would get along with a new addition.  All of their worries were for nothing.  Chloe has decided she likes this little thing that grunts and groans and when Little John decides to let out some loud noises, Chloe runs for John or Peyton to see what the problem is.  Where Little John is, you will find Chloe watching to make sure everything is okay.
Well that's all for now.  I will be offline for several days but I will try to post asap about DH and his surgery.
