I visited my LNS this weekend and she had some goodies waiting for me.  One of them is the above pincushion which goes with my Eugenia Tuffet sheep.  This little pincushion is made from WDW hand dyed wools in blue, green and mauve.  I added the star button with some ribbon just to spice it up some.  Eugenia also sent me from Mexico a beautiful turtle pin to add to my collection.  I can't wait to see where she goes next.

I also started this hexagon flower table topper.  It's made in a way that you keep reducing the size of your hexagons in layers and add them down to the smallest being on top.  This first layer I was able to do while watching the race today.  I should have this finished in a day or two and I'm sure it will make sense to you once you see the finished item.
One thing I have discovered, that the older I get, the more I enjoy hand stitching.   All of the work on this table topper is being done by hand except the quilting and I did that by machine.  Also, to the quilters out there....have you ever quilted your piece first and then added the applique?  I must be weird because I find  it much easier to do the appliqueing this way.  Anyone else?

As you can tell by this video, Miss Vallie is back to her normal vivacious self.  Thank you to all the well wishers.  She sends everyone ((hugs)).
Is this not the cutest!!!!

I admit that I am becoming obsessed with the hexagon shape.  Jenn had this idea for a needlebook and I took it from there to see if I could do it.  This has been constructed purely by hand sewing.  There are 4 pages of warm and natural to hold your different types of needles.  On the front is a yo yo made from a really pretty olive green with a creamy pearl button in the center and then surrounded by heirloom lace.  It ties with silk ribbon on both sides.  You can find this is my store for sale.

Miss Vallie is feeling under the weather this morning.  I can tell because the stuffed dog she is cuddled up with is usually being fought with instead of snuggled with.  She's my angel!

I have always loved the old patterns like the Dresden Plate one above.  I decided to do mine a little differently by using primitive fabrics.  These are "Garden Grove" by Henry Glass.  I have 3 squares finished and only 13 to go.  I'm hand stitching these but the quilting will be done by machine.  Also, there will be a large square in the center of the quilt with applique.

Also, I've added to my collection of beautiful fabrics......

"Serenity Garden" by Wilminaton Prints

"Paris Flea Market Ballet Slipper" by Moda Fabrics
I'm also working on a teacup quilt.  The squares are machine embroidered with different floral teacup designs and then will be made into a kitchen table runner using "Field Notes by Blackbird Designs" for Moda Fabrics.

I've decided to change my blog into more of a journal.  You can still look in and see what I've been working on and maybe what I have for sale, but there will be no more comments.  I really don't get that many anyways and if you want to contact me, please use the email address on my profile page.  I've enjoyed making new friends over the years and I hope to keep in touch with a lot of you.  I'm getting older and I guess my priorities have changed....especially when it comes to my family.  There are so many things I want to do yet in my life, and I'm hoping by limiting my use of the computer, I can accomplish many of these.  I wish all of you joy, hope and love in whatever you endeavor.

Blessings, Barbara

I still have these two boxes for sale.  I counted the books and there are 102 of them.  Some of the designers are:  Just Nan, Papillion, Drawn Thread, Cricket, Long Dog Samplers, Erica Michaels, Little House, Sweetheart Tree, and several more.  There are also several extras in the boxes.  Some of the books come with beads, fabric and threads.  I am combining these two boxes for $75.00 and I'm shipping them Priority Mail in the largest flat rate box which is approx. $15.00.  I will split the shipping making your total $82.50....That's less than $1.00 a book.  If interested, email me at grammy5@cfl.rr.com.
Thanks

My new pincushion.  I love this because of how big it is and what it's filled with.  You put something heavy on the bottom inside .....  I used crushed walnut shells.... and then fiberfill on the top part.  What you end up with is a pincushion that won't roll around and sits on your lap or the arm of your chair.  You can find the free pattern here.

Also, I have 4 boxes left of my Surprise boxes and I want them gone so this is what I'm offering.  My original price was $60 a box....now I'm offering TWO of the boxes for $75.00.  This means you get twice as many patterns for only $15 more.  Please email me at grammy5@cfl.rr.com if interested.  Thank you!
You can see them here.
