New items added on my finished sale page

I have added 6 new items for sale on my "finished item" page. These are just stitched and not finished into anything. I just wanted to stitch the design....you all know how that is.

Ladybug, ladybug Fly Away Home......

Yes it's a ladybug biscornu that I stitched for a sweet friend who collects them. If the pattern looks familiar, it's because it's a Sweetheart Tree one but done with different colors. This was fun to do and I'm hoping C.......... likes it.

GOS 4th Challenge Entry

Here is my entry for the fourth Gift of Stitching contest. It's a little tin with the design stitched on the front with a pincushion attached to the top. It's just waiting to hold all those little doodads we stitchers have.

Another Cutie Patootie

This very sweet design comes from Carol Tinson of Heirloom Embroideries. I stitched this with a new fiber I found from DMC and it's called Floche. It's a cotton with a beautiful sheen to it and a dream to work with. If you get a chance to try it, I highly recommend this fiber.

I love the name of this design....April Rose. It just brings to mind beautiful pictures of spring in all it's glory. Hopefully, it will be here soon.

An Update on the Letter J for Jenn

I thought you might enjoy seeing what my daughter, Jenn did with the Mirabilia J that I stitched for her. She comes up with some of the neatest finishing ideas and this one was no exception. GOS - 3rd Challenge Entry

I absolutely love doing these entries for their contest....lets the creative juices flow. LOL Anyways, here is my entry for the latest contest. Can you tell I love biscornus? The part I had to use is the house with the bird on top. I added the little white picket fence around it and the decorative red and green stitches. It was alot of fun to stitch.

A Sewing Case for Jenn

Our daughter Jenn, seems to be the vocus of my posts this fine saturday morning and this is a sewing case I just finished last nite for her. She loves the colors blue and brown together and when I saw these fabrics at my local quilt shop, I knew what I had to do with them. The cross stitch pattern was a freebie from AMAP and can be found on her website. The case has places for your loose needles as well as packs of needles, scissors and anything else she might need.

Favorite Color?

We all have are favorite colors that we stitch with but I'm thinking if you only had one color, which would it be. I would have to pick blue. It's a calming color to me and it comes in such lovely shades from light teals to stunning dark navy.

Then it occurred to me that if you only had one designer to stitch, who would it be? Mine would have to be The Drawn Thread or Just Nan. I really can't make up my mind between the two. The Drawn Thread for her lovely work using specialty stitches and Just Nan for her use of colors. I know my daughter, Jenn, would pick Mirabilia but to me, they are just too much work for my brain at this age. I use to stitch some large designs but now I'm into instant gratification. LOL I love doing smalls and the finishing work. Strange right? I've always enjoyed making something out of nothing and the thought that goes into it. I also love using unusual supplies in my finishing. I've posted a picture of a Halloween biscornu I designed and finished. Strange right? The little temari pumpkin was made by my daughter Jenn so I can't take credit for that.

Rainy Mondays and a Finish

Woke up this morning to a rainy monday and no electricity. Thankfully, hubby wasn't too late for work. I finished the Attic Collection Tuffet so it's a good day to start a new project.

I thought I would have trouble with the ruffled ribbon around the outside but it was actually easier than I thought it would be. So now I get to start something new. This new project is going to take me about a week to do and I can't say what it is yet. I'm making this for someone and I will post pics after she receives it.

Danybrod Needlecase Finished

I finished this today and it was a very fun stitch. I'm not use to putting the cross stitch on the inside of the needlebook...it's usually on the outside. Don't ya just love making smalls? I do...can't get enough of them. In case you don't know, biscornus are my favorite and that's my next small project. This one is by Just A Thought Judy ODell and it's from her Attic Collection. I will post a picture of it tomorrow once I pick the fabric.
Is winter over yet? I am so sick of this dreary weather. The sun was shining this morning but it didn't last very long and now they are calling for thunderstorms. It's only January and we're having thunderstorms. LOL

Entry for the GOS Contest

I have entered two of the contests that the Gift of Stitching magazine has sponsored and this was my entry for the first contest. My sweet friend Peggy received it in the mail as a surprise.

Project of the Week

This week has been pretty productive because I have a finish!!! This week it's a pretty little biscornu. I have no idea who the designer is but I thought it would be sweet in Autumn's colors. I stitched it on 28ct. cream evenweave using Threadworx and Mandarin Bamboo floss. There are no cross stitches in it but completely made up of specialty stitches.
