I absolutely love the channel TCM because it always has some great "old" movies on that I use to enjoy with my Mother. She loved movie stars and there was always those old magazines laying around like Photoplay and such. Till this day I can name a host of old stars cut I can't remember what I ate last week. LOL So I got to thinking of Christmas movies and the ones I love the most. Here's my list and see how it compares to yours.</p></blockquote><p><br /></p><p style="text-align: center;">1. White Christmas</p><p style="text-align: center;">2. It Happened on 5th Avenue</p><p style="text-align: center;">3.It's a Wonderful Life</p><p style="text-align: center;">4. Love Actually</p><p style="text-align: center;">5. The Nightmare Before Christmas</p><p style="text-align: center;">6. Meet Me in St. Louis</p><p style="text-align: center;">7. The Bishops Wife (1947)</p><p style="text-align: center;">8. While You Were Sleeping</p><p style="text-align: center;">9. Shop Around the Corner (1940) </p><p style="text-align: center;">10. A Christmas Carol (1984)</p><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p><p style="text-align: center;">I think my list has some of the newer ones like Love Actually but my favorites are the old black and white movies. This is something my hubby and I do not agree on. He hates black and white movies and says I was born in the wrong decade. Maybe so.....who knows.</p><p style="text-align: center;"> As I type this is 56 degrees outside and I think that's about as cold as it will get. I envy the ones who get to have snow on Christmas. </p><p style="text-align: center;">As far as carols go I love the old ones we sing in church that sing about the Glory of God. Although I found out something the other day and that's that Mike Rowe of the show Dirty Jobs can sing opera and has a marvelous voice. He and John Rich wrote a song about Santa having a dirty job. If you haven't heard it, here ya go.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/49dCobL213M" width="320" youtube-src-id="49dCobL213M"></iframe></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I'd love to know your favorite Christmas movie and why. Everyone have a glorious Christmas Eve and enjoy your day tomorrow with family and friends but please don't forget the reason for the season.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Blessings on All,</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Barbara</div><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p>Barbarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12978996382606758974noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7178132599848547792.post-17068192641336699772021-12-17T10:25:00.002-05:002021-12-17T10:25:17.383-05:00The Holidays<p style="text-align: center;">I know I haven't been on here in quite some time but I thought the Holiday Season would be a good time to let you know what's been going on in my life.</p><p style="text-align: center;">I had the breast surgery and I've had no problems whatsoever. No pain nothing. She did tell me to take a pain pill when I got home but I really didn't need it. The one bad thing was is that I had to wear this special bra for 7 days and that was a killer. It made me feel like my boobs were up in my throat. LOL</p><p style="text-align: center;">My darling husband bought me a new car for Christmas. It's a 2022 Kia Seltos which is their small suv. We were over at John and Peyton's for Thanksgiving and I bought it the day after Thanksgiving. I'm not good on long distance driving so John drove it home for us. I was giving them my Kia Soul so he just drove that back home. The bad news is that the following week I was stopped at a red light and some 19 year old kid hit me in the back. You cannot believe how angry I was. So now it has an accident report attached to it. Luckily he did have insurance and they are paying for repairs. It just seems to me that in this day and age no one respects any one elses property.</p><p style="text-align: center;">We won't be celebrating Christmas with the kids next week because John (who wasn't vaccinated) brought covid home to the family. So our Christmas has been moved up to New Year's which is fine with us.</p><p style="text-align: center;">I hope all of you have the Merriest of Christmas's and a very safe and Happy New Year.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEi_ytwDWfQ1DbuYaFq_49rgtjE9uZnMCQilHs8WAVy0hWjuU4P_Amk-TNox8AoNfCjVjQhvBX4C5p_1steLOIm1ztyi2aUfBkrXDb6ZamK9L7wkrgGSVKyAeU_0x65b9el7apWZRnFGtWtMf51cSx070xZVeWDCcepVz8SdGXdErWHrccd5ERup1k9d=s6390" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1666" data-original-width="6390" height="83" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEi_ytwDWfQ1DbuYaFq_49rgtjE9uZnMCQilHs8WAVy0hWjuU4P_Amk-TNox8AoNfCjVjQhvBX4C5p_1steLOIm1ztyi2aUfBkrXDb6ZamK9L7wkrgGSVKyAeU_0x65b9el7apWZRnFGtWtMf51cSx070xZVeWDCcepVz8SdGXdErWHrccd5ERup1k9d=s320" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p style="text-align: center;">All My Blessings for the upcoming year....</p><p style="text-align: center;">Barbara</p>Barbarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12978996382606758974noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7178132599848547792.post-89547826622929810322021-08-01T14:02:00.003-04:002021-08-01T14:05:39.178-04:00<p style="text-align: center;">It seems like years since I posted anything and I think I'm coming out of my funk. The other day I made myself go to Needle Orts, my LNS, and while there I came across these two new Nora Corbett designs. I love stitching Halloween because of Little John's birthday and I thought these might be ideal for getting me back into the swing. They only have three different fibers.....black silk, a Waterlillie and a kreinek braid plus some beads. </p><p style="text-align: center;"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjQxhyJtzIv8YqdcU_KnGxzgoX5kgRte5eefja2fgsmshwPvCdHcMgw7V6289ThYJ8j271xaqirn_h0yVVaurJhWjd40_1ZA3lebDlQXOVNiZc8qS88xA4aMMP_QLmr-iRW6l_6eqsIn8/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="180" data-original-width="179" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjQxhyJtzIv8YqdcU_KnGxzgoX5kgRte5eefja2fgsmshwPvCdHcMgw7V6289ThYJ8j271xaqirn_h0yVVaurJhWjd40_1ZA3lebDlQXOVNiZc8qS88xA4aMMP_QLmr-iRW6l_6eqsIn8/" width="239" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Evanora</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgu3hOuG-VPUTH8uRUXH6kABZ5uZbG5SDZHYjR6fxAt6AVgGu2EAggr_XOCzu9UZy0hvMP8pSh6ENt3yZLrgLElnIoBtD4zbvJMa7_2nn4BFAdqrdgPJm6wKpn4VOzfYhgFi_Ggu_rRmgc/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="180" data-original-width="180" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgu3hOuG-VPUTH8uRUXH6kABZ5uZbG5SDZHYjR6fxAt6AVgGu2EAggr_XOCzu9UZy0hvMP8pSh6ENt3yZLrgLElnIoBtD4zbvJMa7_2nn4BFAdqrdgPJm6wKpn4VOzfYhgFi_Ggu_rRmgc/" width="240" /></a></div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Claire</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I am starting with Evanora and so far so good. Peyton, John and the kids are moving over close to Tampa 2.5 hours away. They don't like living in Orlando anymore, neither do I. so next weekend they shall be on their way. They found a house to rent till their house sells here and they get use to the area. I'm going to miss them dreadfully. I've grown use to having them only 10 minutes away and it's going to take some getting use to. I did find that a Amtrak train runs once a day from Orlando to Tampa so that's house we will get over there. Neither one of us can drive for a long period of time. Peyton promised that they will come home once a month but that's not enough for me. It seems that the older I get the more I hate change. Is it just me or am I with others in this. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I hope everyone has stayed strong in this year so far. I am so sick of having the CDC or the idiots in Washington changing their minds from one day to another about masks, vaccinations and anything else to do with Covid. Please God help them make up their minds.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Blessings to All,</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Barbara </div><br /></div><p></p>Barbarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12978996382606758974noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7178132599848547792.post-28445530399133376922021-03-10T07:14:00.001-05:002021-03-10T07:14:12.505-05:00<p style="text-align: center;"> Well I got the results back from my mammogram and they're not looking good. They aren't calling it cancer but "abnormal cells". Now that's a new one on me. I have to have an MRI and then I have a discussion with the surgeon about the removal and then we'll see about an oncologist about follow up treatment. To me that sounds like cancer. I got the news yesterday only after I called them to see if they got the results back yet. I asked the nurse when they had gotten them in and she wouldn't tell me. I'm just wondering how long would they have waited to call me. Have I ever said I hate Doctors! If not well I do and this is going to be a difficult road for me so I'm asking for some prayers to help me get thru this. </p><p style="text-align: center;">I hope spring is happening in your neighborhood and showing a sign of rebirth.</p><p style="text-align: center;">Blessings, Barbara</p>Barbarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12978996382606758974noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7178132599848547792.post-57320426645020759992021-02-24T20:08:00.003-05:002021-02-25T07:03:28.232-05:00<p style="text-align: center;"> It's been quite awhile since I posted and I just want to thank the ladies who emailed me to make sure I was okay. Other than being bored, depressed and worried....I'm alright. I went this past Monday for my annual mammogram and they found something that wasn't on last years. I go in on March 1st for a biopsy to be taken to see what it is. The doctor is pretty sure that it's a cyst but she wants to make sure. I'm not real comfy with just a biopsy because when my husband had cancer in his lung, the biopsy came back negative but the doctor, bless his heart, had a bad feeling and decided to operate. We are very happy he did because it was cancer and if we had gone by just the biopsy Lord knows where my hubby would be today. So I'm just not having a happy moment over this development.</p><p style="text-align: center;">Question.....how many of you have had the vaccine? I have decided not to get it in any form. Hubby is waiting for the one shot from Johnson & Johnson but I'm not a very trusting person when it comes to medicine. I really don't want anything to do with any of them.</p><p style="text-align: center;">I haven't been doing any cross stitch but I have been cleaning up my sewing room and doing some knitting and crocheting. This first picture is of my storage bins for my yarns and yes each one of those bins is full of yarn.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlF24hVpDMIO5z4OjfpJXeJdkdaiCTcldsaJdMK9OismXXlOymkb7Z9f-XTvg70_oTGW4TpbPrrX8FYf7kbRtGFf3FW04JQQyS-nFEknT9rM1lmFZaPhp26iUTzESAgH_vz31WMvhvHaQ/s2048/12.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1152" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlF24hVpDMIO5z4OjfpJXeJdkdaiCTcldsaJdMK9OismXXlOymkb7Z9f-XTvg70_oTGW4TpbPrrX8FYf7kbRtGFf3FW04JQQyS-nFEknT9rM1lmFZaPhp26iUTzESAgH_vz31WMvhvHaQ/w225-h400/12.jpg" width="225" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Here are some of the projects I've finished in the last two months.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrWAwWeE0OKaHoiJL3Ic_QMbByoUqVIRPC0VK2CGRN84zAZFdfKLhAEoGtaxpgA_yVCNuNbUAcAIxHH3dhyUT9ZKD3vdrRoUoAY4Tg0QfQ_cyPXRlk8dNFzDAkyzK8Pv1iwmDp8VMEZ4s/s2048/3.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1152" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrWAwWeE0OKaHoiJL3Ic_QMbByoUqVIRPC0VK2CGRN84zAZFdfKLhAEoGtaxpgA_yVCNuNbUAcAIxHH3dhyUT9ZKD3vdrRoUoAY4Tg0QfQ_cyPXRlk8dNFzDAkyzK8Pv1iwmDp8VMEZ4s/w225-h400/3.jpg" width="225" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The above is a 100% alpaca yarn that is gradient from dark periwinkle to white.</div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLUM0fUC_FA_C6_wWQ7ka_DglfvlcS9aud5D1hWNDyd7fIhyROlsEHQq3bjmWctX8qyzXUuO-0fbg2IUVdwXwGFk6oLHdoio4BEKdYWDKC_QOh_rrUAneFqkjRocXlG9MnCOVy8xBFghI/s2048/5.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1901" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLUM0fUC_FA_C6_wWQ7ka_DglfvlcS9aud5D1hWNDyd7fIhyROlsEHQq3bjmWctX8qyzXUuO-0fbg2IUVdwXwGFk6oLHdoio4BEKdYWDKC_QOh_rrUAneFqkjRocXlG9MnCOVy8xBFghI/w371-h400/5.jpg" width="371" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The above is a yarn made out of milk and merino wool. Things have been a little crazy around here and our health hasn't been the greatest. I think I'm on the mend so hopefully I'll be able to get some stitching done and posted.</p><p style="text-align: center;">I hope all of you had a great Thanksgiving with family if you were able to. We went to the kids because they are close by and Peyton did all the cooking. LOL She makes a sweet potato casserole that's to die for and there was no way I was missing that. Here's a picture of the three rugrats dressed and ready for bed on Thanksgiving night.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghLX8gDFKG1y-r69ZMlxHjdTyRkhpxaS_CcNzADrX4NRDUQUXPY_FGG4YY-lZGf_LycPXUWVm_MA20EbD9hE0vSI2jjfp_s9APAwhD_kQNX49iOEtKemYaYqROnN1xr3jy_V_-v97Xcjs/s2048/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1152" data-original-width="2048" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghLX8gDFKG1y-r69ZMlxHjdTyRkhpxaS_CcNzADrX4NRDUQUXPY_FGG4YY-lZGf_LycPXUWVm_MA20EbD9hE0vSI2jjfp_s9APAwhD_kQNX49iOEtKemYaYqROnN1xr3jy_V_-v97Xcjs/w400-h225/3.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I also wanted to draw your attention to a free sal that is starting tomorrow. Pakaw is what everyone calls my husband. Peyton started it when she was a little girl and we've never figured out where she got it from. Anyway, Evelyn just made herself very comfy on his lap and I snapped the picture. This one is being printed out for safekeeping.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRciNlZsp9u9prYiv-YT8qaRSI5zP2-21-KqfQ9g2HQCn1a1spfDMH6o3YSdXOCxHdd0Yqq9lqZv1kt_T7GJK-ynGjMewZm4vJWvcm8mlRmgoI3XSKWT8qG4MZuMkIy3ZtDto-yNev1z0/s2048/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1152" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRciNlZsp9u9prYiv-YT8qaRSI5zP2-21-KqfQ9g2HQCn1a1spfDMH6o3YSdXOCxHdd0Yqq9lqZv1kt_T7GJK-ynGjMewZm4vJWvcm8mlRmgoI3XSKWT8qG4MZuMkIy3ZtDto-yNev1z0/w360-h640/2.jpg" width="360" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">They do have a way of charming you don't they.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Blessings, Barbara</div><br /><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p>Barbarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12978996382606758974noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7178132599848547792.post-42779386419223762612020-10-25T11:20:00.002-04:002020-10-25T11:20:56.531-04:00When You Finish Something You Don't Like<p style="text-align: center;"> This is what happens. I've finished the shawl I had been working on and I just don't like it. It's a beautiful yarn made of Virgin Wool for warmth, Nylon for strength and Cashmere for softness. As you can see it does have beautiful autumn colors in it and would look good with just about anything. I have decided to give this shawl away. If you decide to enter for this giveaway I must tell you in advance that when you wash this shawl it must not be put in the washing machine or dryer. You must wash by hand with a gentle soap and lay flat to dry. This would make a fantastic gift for someone on your Christmas list that feels the chill on autumn days. Here is the finished shawl.....</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEja9d-ayWZ7_FDLpLrJTZGKPJXT3zYVIO0qp6BFDCPbdmsIKR9a2xTfGOZcn7tSpOcbvnWs0-8vlK8g3SH_z_NU7mdMAWCqVGWPokvpQ2s9ZgWcDGvJQcaGZFl7YOLdAHOyqbL8L1wNBvs/s2048/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1152" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEja9d-ayWZ7_FDLpLrJTZGKPJXT3zYVIO0qp6BFDCPbdmsIKR9a2xTfGOZcn7tSpOcbvnWs0-8vlK8g3SH_z_NU7mdMAWCqVGWPokvpQ2s9ZgWcDGvJQcaGZFl7YOLdAHOyqbL8L1wNBvs/w360-h640/1.jpg" width="360" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjM3suOrp8xPgTR-iEnzylmz6pH4ZU0g7zabXzgN41ShtA4ta4b9HNwdgRSM_jhNM1SHvniyV3WulzrRgBCJWuaei8jpczkDBGlXimWhjNpBP0I7G1CTzAv14Q_4njBhkp6oY1Q8GfwZdc/s2048/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1152" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjM3suOrp8xPgTR-iEnzylmz6pH4ZU0g7zabXzgN41ShtA4ta4b9HNwdgRSM_jhNM1SHvniyV3WulzrRgBCJWuaei8jpczkDBGlXimWhjNpBP0I7G1CTzAv14Q_4njBhkp6oY1Q8GfwZdc/w360-h640/2.jpg" width="360" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEy38r5L0b3Sqz-HPVbJnN854afwUXWx8tdYoHZnLi9Cq01B53HGiBQ97it7Vx0JNRvonK0vyp9vWtmdhE2N9-eKJu3fnZJvZVD-G3fVRNHVVvdDHIX09bebwg7mId_YZn0CV4gm1E8-U/s2048/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1152" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEy38r5L0b3Sqz-HPVbJnN854afwUXWx8tdYoHZnLi9Cq01B53HGiBQ97it7Vx0JNRvonK0vyp9vWtmdhE2N9-eKJu3fnZJvZVD-G3fVRNHVVvdDHIX09bebwg7mId_YZn0CV4gm1E8-U/w360-h640/3.jpg" width="360" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIzqvkjUAORhnm5dkXZTyRoldIiyX9Sde9nRWWIxAt4M6h9GMvKqG0SYQWA5aM01b06DEXq2OLSrXvKhgAIc3tS4BURdn7f2qcNvl0pEEC9S3pin3WFZZZr6N41hA5WoaEiiqOhv4l7JU/s2048/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1152" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIzqvkjUAORhnm5dkXZTyRoldIiyX9Sde9nRWWIxAt4M6h9GMvKqG0SYQWA5aM01b06DEXq2OLSrXvKhgAIc3tS4BURdn7f2qcNvl0pEEC9S3pin3WFZZZr6N41hA5WoaEiiqOhv4l7JU/w360-h640/4.jpg" width="360" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">It is on the large side for a shawl being at least 60 inches across the upper part. She turned one on August 23rd. If you're wondering what she's wearing, Peyton and I had gone that morning to Wally World to pick up some meds and I wanted to get the boys birthday gifts. Peyton when she was little loved the show "Rugrats" and when she saw these pj pants she had to have them. Evelyn liked them because they were so soft so I wrapped them around her like a cape. She thought she was "Queen of the World" and pranced just so.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I think a lot of you are confused about Peyton and her relation to me. She is our Grand Daughter and the kids are our Great Grandchildren. Over the years a lot of people have mistaken her for our daughter because before I went grey my hair was brown....and now it's very grey. So that tells you exactly how old I am and why I love this family so much. The rest of our family lives in Pennsylvania so Peyton, John and their children are all we are blessed with and we love them dearly. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">So if you want a chance to win this shawl, please leave a message on this post and we'll pick a winner next Sunday.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Blessings To All,</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Barbara</div>Barbarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12978996382606758974noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7178132599848547792.post-22108399999808859272020-10-17T14:40:00.005-04:002020-10-17T16:57:40.295-04:00<p style="text-align: center;"> Has it gotten cooler where you live? Would you believe my air conditioner is still running with the high's near 90. This is the middle of October and I feel crazy putting up my Halloween decorations in this heat. I have a sister in law in Pa. who loves owls so I stitched a little cutie for her. It came from one of the Halloween Yearly issues of JCS and it was designed by Blackberry Lane Designs. I stitched it on a hand dyed 28ct Jobelan but the name escapes me.</p><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhajNNtbSGLa6B7QYVVonIy7VCWJMzFVL-SUXrf94gEIgnPl5d-KYRRR5XCDQfPxdVhVJ2LW0Jac9usS8dYfAsp7g3o5OdbcPz-VvelxMDfLx-WJaFp3N5ZT8yvbHZ86btvsnsUio4zKU/s2048/1.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="2043" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhajNNtbSGLa6B7QYVVonIy7VCWJMzFVL-SUXrf94gEIgnPl5d-KYRRR5XCDQfPxdVhVJ2LW0Jac9usS8dYfAsp7g3o5OdbcPz-VvelxMDfLx-WJaFp3N5ZT8yvbHZ86btvsnsUio4zKU/w398-h400/1.jpg" width="398" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I haven't done any more on the Coming to America design and I don't think I will for the rest of the year. I will tell you that Zane has turned into Peyton's buddy for roller coaster rides. He was finally tall enough to go on the one in the kids park and he came off the first time grinning from ear to ear. He knew I was tired and wanted to go home but he asked so nicely if he and mommy could ride it again. Now I ask you....how am I to say no to that. The second time he was just as happy. The last ride of the day was Peyton on the Manta. Here's what her version of one of the perfect roller coasters are like. If you think they are hanging upside down you are correct. You get on it in a sitting position and then you seat tips forward and you're upside down. One thing that we don't have to worry about anymore is raking up the maple tree leaves that always cover the front yard. We had to have the tree removed and with it went the leaves and the whirlies that always got over my car. I hated those things. </p><p style="text-align: center;">I've finished knitting the shawl I was working on and I had to get a longer cable for my interchangeable needles. I sent away for a 60 inch one and wow that made a world of difference in the ease of knitting so many stitches. The finished shawl turned out about 70 inches wide and about 30 inches deep to the point. I love it and will use it hopefully several times this winter. Here's the finished product....</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8lmW2EL9Jptiqr1tGKT1P96bCdnmCuBBr3UROcR-f4h1m8SlqkTn2zGtCyvf5vk66f9VsQgUZ_QSP5K8H6OJt2ybAU1EBpb3rDsf5W2URwqCogmvLdobPiFznjxwGr4nBmEPQOH7cGks/s2048/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1152" height="519" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8lmW2EL9Jptiqr1tGKT1P96bCdnmCuBBr3UROcR-f4h1m8SlqkTn2zGtCyvf5vk66f9VsQgUZ_QSP5K8H6OJt2ybAU1EBpb3rDsf5W2URwqCogmvLdobPiFznjxwGr4nBmEPQOH7cGks/w292-h519/3.jpg" width="292" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3cizz2A58rOkK8O1i5KS0id4j2mriJGuN4j4FjL0k5Au749OPsY2k4GBLGdAHsoTJYLMGuLUA-zYXd5Wptnv9h0_J2oP6oQbpBcQMAIorsyViIbjWBEPNqlRh-JLQjx6j1X04ntCQOTU/s2048/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1152" height="533" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3cizz2A58rOkK8O1i5KS0id4j2mriJGuN4j4FjL0k5Au749OPsY2k4GBLGdAHsoTJYLMGuLUA-zYXd5Wptnv9h0_J2oP6oQbpBcQMAIorsyViIbjWBEPNqlRh-JLQjx6j1X04ntCQOTU/w300-h533/4.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><p style="text-align: center;">The last stripe at the top I only did for half the number of rows because I wanted to do a crocheted edging around the shawl so I saved some of the yarn. Now I'm looking for a nice black pin to wear with it. I'm going to try Etsy because it would be nice to have a hand made one to go with it.</p><p style="text-align: center;">I haven't done any stitching on the Coming to America cross stitch. I really wanted to finish my shawl but now I can get back to it. </p><p style="text-align: center;">I'm still depressed as ever and can't seem to get myself out of it. I've talked with several others and it seems to be a condition that quite a few people are experiencing. I hate it and I hate how I feel. My attention span is shot and I can't concentrate on anything for more than a few minutes. I babysit Zane and Evelyn twice a week for about 2 hours each day while Little John is in school and Peyton is taking one of her college courses. That breaks up the week some but what do I do for the other 5 days? I find myself sleeping a lot and that's not good either. I have an appointment coming up with the family doctor so maybe he can give me some hints on what to do about this funk I'm in.</p><p style="text-align: center;">Hope all of you are enjoying the fall season and the beautiful colors it brings,</p><p style="text-align: center;">Blessings, Barbara</p>Barbarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12978996382606758974noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7178132599848547792.post-14736712952262279992020-09-09T20:06:00.004-04:002020-09-09T20:09:00.121-04:00Chugging Along<p style="text-align: center;"> Good Wednesday to all you chicks. I'm still working on the knitted shawl and I wanted to share something with you about it. In between ball number 1 and ball number 2 I did 2 rows of black alpaca. Between ball number 2 and number 3 I did 4 rows of black alpaca. Now I bought all these 4 skeins at the same time and they were from the same dye lot. Take a look at the difference between 1 and 2....</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5r2asA3pzRXnu2Bu6xls7nZj4vSFqA0I_nkbpmRd5-btRTQuBB1p0_-hLLIKUpOA0f2_8Q7lbH3foGgjZ6WHF4dLW-fGcNWpgflcDzJnSDKf4_RAr7xnJ-PN9UEK5DJL-reOPnvdwNBQ/s2048/3.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1562" data-original-width="2048" height="381" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5r2asA3pzRXnu2Bu6xls7nZj4vSFqA0I_nkbpmRd5-btRTQuBB1p0_-hLLIKUpOA0f2_8Q7lbH3foGgjZ6WHF4dLW-fGcNWpgflcDzJnSDKf4_RAr7xnJ-PN9UEK5DJL-reOPnvdwNBQ/w500-h381/3.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Do you see more red in the second ball? I didn't even take notice of this until I had added the 4 rows of black at the top. Strange how it's different even from the same dye lot. Can't wait to see skein 3 and 4 knitted up. Should be interesting.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Well I've started the Coming to America sampler and I decided on 20ct. Lugana over 1 with 2 threads. It covers really well and it's pretty easy for me to see. If anyone out there is wanting to do this pattern on 28ct. Mocha Linen that the design calls for, I have a piece I can sell you if you're having problems finding it in your area. Here's what I have done....not much but it shows how wide it will be.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgP7kYdpDXZ7z_Y5wF1dmJZ5_aS0RNTUpi0fBOs-BtblDngGL99ImIkIu0KLfk5qUbyjZpSKsdZ3HbfC50FrkCvfzQCZPTFAccfnflTBX27HTAm9IZEnvN5yBFCPFyQ9EFSBYr1ntiav0w/s2048/1.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1657" data-original-width="2048" height="404" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgP7kYdpDXZ7z_Y5wF1dmJZ5_aS0RNTUpi0fBOs-BtblDngGL99ImIkIu0KLfk5qUbyjZpSKsdZ3HbfC50FrkCvfzQCZPTFAccfnflTBX27HTAm9IZEnvN5yBFCPFyQ9EFSBYr1ntiav0w/w500-h404/1.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I went with the kids on Monday to Daytona Beach to initiate Evelyn to the ocean. Wow did she love it. Peyton had to keep a good eye on her because she wanted to chase the waves back out to sea. We ate at a restaurant on a pier called Joe's Crab House and wow were they good. I love seafood and their blue crab sandwich hit the spot. Here's the view from our table.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixj_KZL-PGukChYArQyoO6W0CmPKrKsiPXBAkitFbbbTcJHJMgk9YzLPf2_cFJbDzx9uNCe5UBYTX_SMncMYe85Rm6Xz9KqXK52kAvjkO7TKDrABSA_jhmH2i8kvahyphenhyphensfTjKUP1AqioQA/s2048/2.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1152" height="625" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixj_KZL-PGukChYArQyoO6W0CmPKrKsiPXBAkitFbbbTcJHJMgk9YzLPf2_cFJbDzx9uNCe5UBYTX_SMncMYe85Rm6Xz9KqXK52kAvjkO7TKDrABSA_jhmH2i8kvahyphenhyphensfTjKUP1AqioQA/w351-h625/2.jpg" width="351" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I hope all of you had a safe and happy Labor Day. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Blessings, Barbara</div>Barbarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12978996382606758974noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7178132599848547792.post-41428364279387289202020-08-27T19:59:00.000-04:002020-08-27T19:59:15.664-04:00The End Product<p style="text-align: center;"> Hello everyone. I hope you're gearing up for a great weekend. I'm not sure what I'll be doing but I know it will have something to do with stitching or my great-grandbabies.</p><p style="text-align: center;">I finished the BBD design and I have actually done the finishing work and turned it into a pincushion. I walnut stained the linen and pillow fabric and I do love how they both turned out. There's some blotchiness which is great and it adds to the theme. Here it is.....</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcVNPI_si1aRplr_NLG3aQvyJ644rg6uVI_7OCvJ3dlIyBhicd0ZkEnyL3zCk-csgHBliYSLTeJuD764X4Gtr2GyVFEx31biLf0HwzXGA7K_sf5ruPwYT-EPMYuUgktjjKEFVYvR7qQkU/s2048/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1252" data-original-width="2048" height="313" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcVNPI_si1aRplr_NLG3aQvyJ644rg6uVI_7OCvJ3dlIyBhicd0ZkEnyL3zCk-csgHBliYSLTeJuD764X4Gtr2GyVFEx31biLf0HwzXGA7K_sf5ruPwYT-EPMYuUgktjjKEFVYvR7qQkU/w512-h313/1.jpg" width="512" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdGoeLcjkCxKDYI7M2ErE5DXb0bLrOtVnEPbMsQEODWje_M_nxTE61Xd-dnduDcKLoPqLEqGoJdJAxqexnpaS5iMJjjQvUR-CBkKJNg8upi-2y9stBrFamrLc3YYpty1LA3sTnoayecHM/s2048/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1333" data-original-width="2048" height="333" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdGoeLcjkCxKDYI7M2ErE5DXb0bLrOtVnEPbMsQEODWje_M_nxTE61Xd-dnduDcKLoPqLEqGoJdJAxqexnpaS5iMJjjQvUR-CBkKJNg8upi-2y9stBrFamrLc3YYpty1LA3sTnoayecHM/w512-h333/2.jpg" width="512" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7k1VzNAcD4_UJb7ywvUUKRfLRWVVhbgBxsw7yYf72JjcuDlirtfa3Xl54vOKYvNGIAG4FJTpQ-mVbeuAvogVtAgQKQyEJcVTWmszczZeeCqEfFwir19bIWET-ubZ2G6ca_tCESHigF5M/s2048/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1419" data-original-width="2048" height="354" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7k1VzNAcD4_UJb7ywvUUKRfLRWVVhbgBxsw7yYf72JjcuDlirtfa3Xl54vOKYvNGIAG4FJTpQ-mVbeuAvogVtAgQKQyEJcVTWmszczZeeCqEfFwir19bIWET-ubZ2G6ca_tCESHigF5M/w512-h354/3.jpg" width="512" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHakzhm9qtRQ03nVhBdzEgTnTgzSUj4eZ72dSrBGHr7kI8iKnRIvJhr6R-E4uDXjUgGcrInEsHLnJ0-7W67DnvEtCFRo6ny9sTJ8Nl5nPBQKR6n4T88XYistAvqcQy1S1zBhiAwn6r_w4/s2048/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1279" data-original-width="2048" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHakzhm9qtRQ03nVhBdzEgTnTgzSUj4eZ72dSrBGHr7kI8iKnRIvJhr6R-E4uDXjUgGcrInEsHLnJ0-7W67DnvEtCFRo6ny9sTJ8Nl5nPBQKR6n4T88XYistAvqcQy1S1zBhiAwn6r_w4/w512-h320/4.jpg" width="512" /></a></div><br /><p style="text-align: center;">I had fun sewing this together and planning what I was going to add to it. The plastic clips on the side are called Wonder Clips and even if you're not a quilter they are great to have on hand. I like using them to hold fabric for sewing instead of pins because these don't cause me to bleed. I don't know how many of my projects get blood on them because I'm horrible with pins. The color of the linen and fabric is darker than what is posted here because of my lighting I guess.</p><p style="text-align: center;">Now to start the Coming to America design. I have two choices for fabric which I can't decide between. I have a 20ct. Lugana in the color Clay where my design would turn out 6.25" wide x 21" in height. Now that's pretty big but manageable. It will be harder for me to stitch but the framing won't be as costly either. Or I have the color Vintage Country Mocha that it calls for in 28ct. Now this turns out a whopping 9" x 30" which would be harder to work with because of the amount of fabric but easier to see. There's also the cost of framing something so big and where to hang it. You see my problem. I will probably end up tossing a coin to decide but whichever I choose it will stay that.</p><p style="text-align: center;">You all probably get tired of me posting pics of the great-grandbabies but this one I can't resist. Peyton asked Little John to get his clothes on for school but she didn't say who he was suppose to put them on. Out came Evelyn wearing Little John's clothes and she is happy as all get out. She does love her big brother.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijL5xblxpVTj7zzLqF0OVN5pWm1VhjFJKjLbq2TVuerS7kgvFnF22fOY7XiDgZsrQO77xfBqlLkf0__JWqlp64k3NhjALi08KpkHV4rdm4AnoDWzochxyqRUA9dT-VcYOCOYnFS77OJVc/s2048/5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1651" height="512" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijL5xblxpVTj7zzLqF0OVN5pWm1VhjFJKjLbq2TVuerS7kgvFnF22fOY7XiDgZsrQO77xfBqlLkf0__JWqlp64k3NhjALi08KpkHV4rdm4AnoDWzochxyqRUA9dT-VcYOCOYnFS77OJVc/w412-h512/5.jpg" width="412" /></a></div><p style="text-align: center;">Many Blessings, Barbara</p>Barbarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12978996382606758974noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7178132599848547792.post-57764684984115800002020-08-26T10:34:00.000-04:002020-08-26T10:34:05.434-04:00For a Chuckle<p style="text-align: center;"> <img alt=" " height="395" src="https://i.pinimg.com/564x/fd/4b/34/fd4b34e1a7dd3d881d1e57f7ea80a93a.jpg" style="text-align: left;" width="450" /></p><p style="text-align: center;">Have a Blessed Day,</p><p style="text-align: center;">Barbara</p>Barbarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12978996382606758974noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7178132599848547792.post-78660308481870087042020-08-23T20:30:00.002-04:002020-08-23T20:32:56.579-04:00Thank You<p style="text-align: center;"> I must say thank you to some very special followers of my blog. They made me realize that my life is better without worrying about what goes on on a website that I can live without. I don't even know why I bother with it because I have so many patterns I'll never make them all. LOL Back to important things.....like stitching.</p><p style="text-align: center;">I'm not sure how many are aware of this design that Brenda Gervais of With Thy Needle and Thread has come out with but I thought I'd share it with you. She did this for the 400th Anniversary of the Mayflower landing at Plymouth rock. Here is what you get:</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyDI2SMCDR9atYoJlCz5RJyItJVkaBpf-jjcyXxYdWwGjICaQsso2S1cupbPtaFEmMVKdE0ZPy5mJWHerozlHa85C21Im91gCr40R-gHIFulxmdga3GSgj9VUWrAUqWUDYo4NSKdYIrhU/s2048/2.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1425" data-original-width="2048" height="356" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyDI2SMCDR9atYoJlCz5RJyItJVkaBpf-jjcyXxYdWwGjICaQsso2S1cupbPtaFEmMVKdE0ZPy5mJWHerozlHa85C21Im91gCr40R-gHIFulxmdga3GSgj9VUWrAUqWUDYo4NSKdYIrhU/w512-h356/2.jpg" width="512" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This shows the fabric, pattern and all the fibers needed.</div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2xRRwUFmKbxSFr7s17fmgOBDHaktZcyqFxEchXOcJMWK3a-5CAH-wgNBqgp2fC20kawZsPlVhS4_SKvhuRh0EtoYQFLgCk-sIpKffd5AqIIQGXjbKo59xLXQ57UYNHm4iuu2IwFZfVxg/s2048/3.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1462" data-original-width="2048" height="365" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2xRRwUFmKbxSFr7s17fmgOBDHaktZcyqFxEchXOcJMWK3a-5CAH-wgNBqgp2fC20kawZsPlVhS4_SKvhuRh0EtoYQFLgCk-sIpKffd5AqIIQGXjbKo59xLXQ57UYNHm4iuu2IwFZfVxg/w512-h365/3.jpg" width="512" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This shows the pincushion that you can make as a companion piece.</div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbWvZk0UUoGuSq19WneZv2zLrj_MPZ_O1T4Rbr3P88LUukRGMHLP-FZ9-dQzpqxnLBxiiEMfxFZUtxilZttjn0lznq_E2dKbuAGFbP7OpPAUp7D-6BlQl_EhKvid0Xq_UFghZQ18OFSFE/s2048/4.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1493" data-original-width="2048" height="373" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbWvZk0UUoGuSq19WneZv2zLrj_MPZ_O1T4Rbr3P88LUukRGMHLP-FZ9-dQzpqxnLBxiiEMfxFZUtxilZttjn0lznq_E2dKbuAGFbP7OpPAUp7D-6BlQl_EhKvid0Xq_UFghZQ18OFSFE/w512-h373/4.jpg" width="512" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This shows the captain of the Mayflower and you get a piece of fabric for the backing of the pincushion that has part of his diary printed on it. I used a Trump 2020 avatar and they have deleted it and my entire profile. Since when do people have the right to tell you how to think and act? The more this goes on the more I have grave doubts for this country. I already know this coming election will be a hard one because lets face it.... Washington is corrupt.....and I mean everyone there. They no longer care for the common man and woman they care about is getting re-elected and keeping the money flowing into their bank accounts. I started a new cross stitch piece called "My Home" by BBD. I'm stitching it on 32ct cream Belfast linen and when I'm finished with the stitching I will soak it in some coffee or crushed walnuts. We have been blessed and no one has taken ill and for that we are truly grateful. Not much going on in the stitching department but I do try to keep busy. My new friend is Netflix and I've watched several shows and movies that I wouldn't of been able to before. I particularly like the historical documentaries and shows life in an earlier time....especially England. I have often thought that I was born in the wrong century. </p><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p><p style="text-align: center;">I started a knitted shawl because this yarn is a very busy variegated and I thought crocheting might not do justice to the yarn. It's a Malabrigo Dos Tierras and the color is called "Diana" which is a 50% merino wool and 50% baby alpaca.. It's a dk weight so I grabbed a size 6 needle and I'm starting at the bottom point and increasing one stitch every row. I love the look of it and the feel of it. Here's what I have done so far....</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjI3an9t2cZ7WtyhOcvAIuI0sQa-53FtKkFy2tG9aCNjWFbtkDmdx6C3AZ5q46vrxCPieKF982bwKVuhLJhzdBmxGAog_cRxjo9J39zD1iNtUkmuOw-WUn1s8FgN7qTP6BvyXbf8lLmVqU/s2048/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1152" data-original-width="2048" height="288" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjI3an9t2cZ7WtyhOcvAIuI0sQa-53FtKkFy2tG9aCNjWFbtkDmdx6C3AZ5q46vrxCPieKF982bwKVuhLJhzdBmxGAog_cRxjo9J39zD1iNtUkmuOw-WUn1s8FgN7qTP6BvyXbf8lLmVqU/w512-h288/4.jpg" width="512" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">We spent a day at Sea World and wow has it really changed since the last time I was there.....about 20 years ago. We all enjoyed the penguin building because it's cold for one thing and after being out in the Florida sun in July, it felt wonderful. The only bad thing about it is the smell of fish. Whoa it is strong.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2eBkcL_XBk3sHKaQyqlMufn1eXLF2WNnqMuvrkwPwDXuE4rkjEygsSjPXYZbR5wYVqtSFbYn7jUVT07nf3f0lyCwAn4uxpoeQdPwRP-UBKvyboImfJdLkCvr6-xA-UjhkYxlA9ewScEY/s2048/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1152" data-original-width="2048" height="288" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2eBkcL_XBk3sHKaQyqlMufn1eXLF2WNnqMuvrkwPwDXuE4rkjEygsSjPXYZbR5wYVqtSFbYn7jUVT07nf3f0lyCwAn4uxpoeQdPwRP-UBKvyboImfJdLkCvr6-xA-UjhkYxlA9ewScEY/w512-h288/2.jpg" width="512" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjw4GL_ULII3ENfFo2ihjxGiiu1rYps0UaiUsymFD297BlWmJeoq24XGJXUPKOmfH4aFzQ-KSc5lBBn5ck4wiGXLlUt1jVRiCzbKXb2ig6Uq5CE53T_6z9wX8Pbkc8kFxPEodzNVxHtf8Y/s2048/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1152" data-original-width="2048" height="288" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjw4GL_ULII3ENfFo2ihjxGiiu1rYps0UaiUsymFD297BlWmJeoq24XGJXUPKOmfH4aFzQ-KSc5lBBn5ck4wiGXLlUt1jVRiCzbKXb2ig6Uq5CE53T_6z9wX8Pbkc8kFxPEodzNVxHtf8Y/w512-h288/3.jpg" width="512" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I haven't shared a picture of Little John in a long time and this was a funny moment. I had purchased these 4 patterns by Jeannette Douglas but I couldn't find them anywhere in my sewing room. I had just cleaned up and moved some stuff around in there and I was sure I had thrown them away by mistake. Well today I found them and so I have two copies of each. Let's see if we can't give these away to someone who might be itching to stitch a Jeannette Douglas design but would like something small. <div style="text-align: center;">
I just wanted to thank all for the wonderful prayers that were sent on behalf of our little great-grandson Zane. His surgery was Wednesday and he came thru it like a champ. He's still having trouble from the anesthesia making him sleepy and having an upset stomach. We hope and pray this is the only surgery he will need on his eyes but they won't be able to tell for several weeks. So please keep the little guy in your prayers that this is the only surgery he'll have to go thru.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Blessings and Thank You's</div>

I have one finished that I picked back up about a week ago and now it's a done deal. It's a Plum Street Sampler design called "Black Cherry Tart" and I stitched it on a 32ct. Belfast in the color Valor. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Hello my fellow stitchers and I hope I'm finding you in good health.....physically and mentally. My mental health has flown the coop and I'm running on batteries that have long lost their power. I don't know what upsets me more....the Coronavirus or the unhealthy state that our country is in. I cannot believe that we are allowing criminals to tear down our historic statues and that they are getting away with it. Both has me madder than a wet hen but there's nothing I can do about either one. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have finished the lady part of Red Winter Gift and it's looking pretty nice on the snowflake fabric. I'm changing a lot of the dmc colors to silks because......well just because. I've stitched a few Mirabilia designs but this one for some reason I am enjoying more. It might be the bright colors or the subject....Christmas....but it's been fun to stitch.</div>

My Halloween shawl is coming along. I'm now in to the dark red portion of the yarn cake and heading home to the black. I think I'm going to order a ball of just the black and made the edging a little bit wider. I think the size of this shawl can carry it with no problem. In case you are wondering what pattern I am using, it's called "Hourglass" and you can find it on Ravelry.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Summer has hit Orlando with full force and it's so humid you can barely stand it. I know I have yard work to do but I just can't stand the heat very much as I get older. Peyton and I took the kids to Sea World the other day but we didn't stay very long. We have season tickets and they come in handy. Not too many people were there and you had to wear your mask unless you were eating or drinking. They also had shady rest areas where you could take your mask off. At least they are giving people a chance to relax and enjoy while out in that heat. We ran into a family from Pennsylvania and they couldn't believe how hot it was. We told them they were lucky that they were there before July, August and September hit. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Everyone please stay safe and healthy this summer and say a prayer that the hurricanes we are sure to get are mild ones. </div>
