but first I want to share a finish with you. This one is a freebie from The Primitive Hare and can be found here. I finished it as a little pillow but added a hanger onto it so I could hang it from a tall mantle clock my Father made me over 40 years ago. It's just some cotton fabric torn into an inch wide strip and then sewn on with a button at each top corner. I like the look of it and where it's hanging has special importance to me.
Okay now for the contest. I thought of something new to entice you to put on your thinking hats. I've stitched this ..
What you must do is tell me the designer's name. Post your answer in the comments section and please don't post the name of the design.....just the designer. If we have more than one correct answer, I will draw a name from those ladies. Here are 3 clues to help you:
1. It's cross stitch
2. It's stitched in Au Ver A Soie
3. It's an ornament
You really didn't think I'd give clues did you? Let's make this last until Wednesday evening and here's the kicker.....whoever guesses right gets a fat 1/8 of Black Cauldron Designs "Hag's Hair" 32ct. Iridescent Belfast Linen. The closest color that DMC makes to this is 372 so it's a perfect color for Halloween designs. We'll also make this world wide because the mailing cost will be low.
So get your thinking caps on and let's see who comes up with the correct answer.
Good Luck and Blessings to all,
Barbara

I love mysteries, so I couldn't resist the chance to play detective. I believe the designer is Vicki Hastings. I'm a fairly new reader of your, but I've enjoyed your posts so far.
It is Vicki Hastings of Cross Eyed Cricket.

I'm also a relatively new reader of your blog---but I think this is from Cross Eyed Cricket's "Playing with Jax". What a cute job you did--so clever to change it up!
I also love your finish on the Primitive Hare piece!!!
Vicki Hastings of Cross Eyed Cricket. I thought I posted it yesterday but I only hit preview -sheesh
Cross eyed cricket for sure!!! How fun... Love your finishes!

Barbara, you are so very creative when it comes to finishing. I love how you finished your pumpkin piece. I also like your mini hanging pillow. I stitched that one last year for our 30th anniversary.
Robin in Virginia
PS I also think it is from The Cricket Collection.
Ok, I'll play! I'd love to win that beautiful fabric, so I'll also guess Vicki Hastings.
Beautiful finishing. I would agree with the other posters that the designer must be CEC. :)
Is it Lizzie Kate?
I say this is Cross Eyed Cricket Vicki Hastings. I have so many of her patterns in my stash!! I love the freebie you did, saw it over on the PSS. Love your finishing.
Kathy L.
I am also guessing Vicki Hastings.
Hello Barbara, just love these games. I see that it is a small part of a design by Vicki Hastings.
I just love your stitching and your finishing is wonderful. I have no idea who the design is by, but I will go with the majority...Vicki Hastings.
Cricket Collection is my best guess.
