I finally finished my latest free design. I used a new fiber to me....Crescent Color Belle Soie silk and I love it. It's not too soft and not at all stiff like Silk N Colors. The bottom of the biscornu is the same green checked fabric as the bow and the button in the center is a little square shell button I found in my stash. This was a fun stitch so if you haven't done it yet, please try it and let me know what you think. I would also love to post a picture of others finished piece here for everyone to see. Pattern is here.
Now I'm back to working on my commissioned piece and maybe with any luck, I'll be able to finish it pretty quick. I was at my local LNS today and purchased some new silks and a new chart. You know what that's like.....I want to start it now!!!!!
Blessings as always,
Barbara

Oh my goodness. I am a self confessed biscornaholic, lol, and this is gorgeous, Barbara, thank you so much.
OOO wow it looks soo lovely stiched up :) .. how do you put fabric to the back of your biscornu's do you use a machine ????as not tried it that way before ... love mouse xxx
Gillie, I'm also a biscornaholic. I love stitching and displaying them.
Mouse, The fabric is attached by hand...no machine stitching. What I do is stitch a backstitch around the outside of the design like you do if you were going to use cross stitch fabric. I then measure that across. I then cut a piece of cotton 1 inch bigger on all sides and fold and press until that piece will fit the backstitched area. Make sense? One thing you must use...a very fine sharp needle and quilting thread. I find the quilting thread is very strong and comes in a wide range of colors. Any questions, just email me and I'll be glad to help you.

Beautiful finish! I love Belle Soie. It's my favorite silk.
I just finished the stitching and have been contemplating the finish - I'll have to give the fabric back a try!

Barbara, what a lovely biscornu, I must admit I love them too and have my blog littered with them. I have your chart downloaded and ready to stitch, next week when I'm on holidays. Thank you for the chart
