What to do.....what to do.....

Yep I'm bored again. I went back and looked in my sewing room and thought "there's nothing I want to do". That's sick!!!! I have fabric, patterns and fibers that most stitchers would envy but I just can't get in the mood to use any of it. I've been telling my daughter, Jenn, that I'm going to box it all up and mail it to her but she doesn't have room for it.
I've been in the knitting mood and I thought about knitting a sweater for one of my grandsons in Colorado where it would be useful, but even that idea has left me down.
I have tons of quaker samplers that I would love to get stitched but even they don't interest me. Has anybody else been where I am? What helped you get over it? This has been happening more and more to me as I get older and I just wondered if that is usual.
Maybe I need to stitch something over 1. I love doing this with two strands in a tent stitch but I'm not sure a sampler would look okay with that. What do you think?
HELP!!!!!
As always....Bored Barbara

Well duh....box it up and send it to me, Louie. You KNOW I have room for it. ;) I'll even pay for it.

I agree w/Carolyn hun; box it up and send to me; I'll pay for postage. :) Just take a little break and Im sure your "stitching bug" will pass. I didn't stitch for about 5 months once; and now I'm a stitching fool. LOL

My solution is always to go to the LNS and buy something new, never mind the fact that I have charts that are decades old and have never been touched...BTW, I received your biscornu in the mail the other day and am finally getting around to saying thank you! It is so tiny and beautiful.

Barbara, can you arrange a raffle candy?
Or better yet - the exchange project, when the ladies exchanged gifts, and distributes the organizer of the project addresses. This is very interesting!

I wish you to creative apathy quickly passed!

so what's the real problem? Nothing in your sewing room appeals and you need something new to stitch or it's the stitching itself that bores you? If the latter, give yourself permission to close your sewing room and find something else to do for a bit. When stitching apathy hits me, I read, do puzzles, play video games, cook up a storm, clean house (yikes, that's desperation!), take lots of walks, etc. Pretty soon, stitching has regained its appeal. Hope you soon find your "cure" for the stitching blues.

Connie, you have some really good ideas for me to try. Thankfully it didn't hit for very long this time. I found that if I went in to my sewing room and started cleaning and putting things away, I will find something that says "stitch me, stitch me" and my blues are gone. I did decide to get rid of my Dinky Dyes and Waterlillies and my sweet friend Carolyn was nice enough to take them off my hands. I'm sure they have found a great home....the only problem is is that this morning I ordered 3 new silks from Vikki. There's really no end to it..........
